Crazy trade Idea.

Someone is leaking a Paul Pierce could be moved over the summer rumor (it's probably just nasty), but I had a thought.

How about a trade with Portland?

Boston trades
Paul Pierce, Vin Baker, '03 1st Rndpick

Portland Trades
Rasheed Wallace, Bonzi Wells, Damon Stoudamire

Boston picks up a decent PG that is likely to be picked up by Charlotte which would mean cap relief. Wallace is a great PF which would allow Walker to play the 3 which is where he truley shoul be playing. Wallace is a free agent after '03/'04. Wells is a very solid 2 guard playing out of position in portland at the 3.

New Lineup
PG Stoudamire
SG Wells
SF Walker
PF Wallace
C Battie

I don't think we would want Stoudamire. he won't really help us. Walker IMO shouldn't be playing the 3, he couldn't keep up with the quicker SF. This also gives kedrick Borown no where to play. I don't like the idea of giving up the draft pick either. If we can get 2 good young players in the first round we will be set for the future. the only thing making that trade acheives is getting Baker off our hands.

Sorry Schilly but you should have seen this coming. I'm sorry but the Celtics don't want the pot spreading throughout the team.

the POR trade probably isnt a good idea........but i'm actually for re-thinking the team

the thing is that i dun see the present celtics winning the east, i truly admire the walker-pierce tandem, they have re-established us a play-off team, but i dun them leading us to a championship........maybe, if gm wallace and more importantly, celtic fans are brave enough, we could trade our two stars for the 2 of the top 3 picks in the coming draft, and pick up some pick big men with our own and PHI's pick, e.g. kendrick perkins and james lang ?

just a thought

Wow, I was thinking of the same thing a few days ago. I was wondering if we could trade Pierce and our draft pick for Lebron. Crazy but might work.

you must be insane!!!

Trading ALL you have in PP for a High School Star....

Thats ridiculous. I cant believe some people's ideas sometimes..

Lebron James is a High School Star, and as of now has not proved ANYTHING as far as playing on the Highest brand of Ball: The NBA.

Thats a joke... i cannot believe people are so quick to give up on their stars.. Guys that have proven they can play on a consistent basis..

Why would anyone do that? LeBron will be selling out seats like they are giving them out for free.

I think he was joking.. Pierce plus a draft pick for a draft pick? Only a crazy person would say that with any sort of seriousness.

Anyway, in regards to this thread, it is highly unlikely Pierce is going anywhere. He's a cornerstone of this organization, and he and Walker are joined at the hip as far as the Celtics are concerned. What they need is either better help or to get the guys they have to step up on a more consistent basis. The past two games were encouraging - both had five players in double figures. Last night, Pierce had 9 assists. When he does that, the Celtics can beat most anyone. It's when the two stars have to take it upon themselves to provide all the offense that they struggle. McCarty, Blount, and Brown are looking more and more comfortable, even in the losses. When Battie and Delk come back, they hopefully will enhance the chemistry rather than detract. They still need a low post presence and another inside defender besides Battie. They thought they were getting that in Baker, but obviously that didn't work out. Kedrick seems to be helping out more inside now. He had four offensive rebounds last night, a block, and two steals. He's not a substitute for a big guy, but he does a lot with the body he has. He's also given up on the three which has helped tremendously.

The only guys I would consider trading Pierce for would be Jason Kidd (because he makes everyone around him better), Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Shaq, or Tim Duncan. Maybe Garnett or Nowitzki. There's pretty much zero chance any of those would happen, though. Forget any of the Blazers. We've got enough of a headcase in Baker.

Crazy trade idea

You are right that trade idea is CRAZY!!!!!!!

Firtst of all, Boston should never trade Pierce.

Second of all, Boston does not want Wallace or Stoudamire. Sheed is a terrible head case, a waste of talent and a distraction to his team. He appears in the headlines for his problems as often as he does for his greatness. He is a cancer that Portland would love to rid themselves of. Damon is a scorer who is too small to guard 2's and does not run the point for the good of the team. He is also someone with a bad attitude who has troubles with the law and drugs.

The only thing that Boston would like in this trade is that Vin would be gone. However, this is when Vin's value is at its lowest. You do not trade when low you trade when value is high.

Let's face it, Boston is stuck with Vin until we find a GM who is dumber than Wallace. This could happen!

How about this trade:

Celtics trade Antoine, a future 1st rounder, and maybe a throw in and cash to the Grizzlies for Pau Gasol and Shane Battier.

Gasol would be the inside scorer the team needs. Battier would be another scoring option. With good usage of the 2 first rounders this year, we would be in pretty good shape.

C-Battie
PF-Gasol
SF-Battier
SG-Pierce
PG-Bremer
Walter, Eric Williams, Kedrick, Delk, 2 first round picks off the bench.

Toine doesn't have that much trade value. Maybe you could get stromile and battier but not gasol.

Umm someone should tell Larry Bird this because he wanted to trade for Antoine back when he coached the Pacers.
We all know Larry Bird doesn't know anything so I guess you must be right
