Kobe won the game for the Lakers by himself. His teammates should be grateful.

Yes, Michaels highest scoring game was 69. But then, he passed the ball once in a while, too.

Kobe has the most assists per game for shooting guards. He passes a lot. When his team is down twenty, he concentrates on doing everything to make his team win (by taking the game over).

And Paul IS capable of scoring 60. But he's pretty focused on team basketball and unlike Kobe, he's not the only Laker that's a scoring threat, making it much less likely to happen.

If Pierce can hoist up 35+ shots, he would be shooting at about 40%. Both players do everything to make their team win. Kobe makes the Lakers better by being selfish cecause Kobe can win the game easier by himself than with his teammates. Pierce cannot win the game by himself and thus, he is the more efficient player who prefers to try to win with his teammates. Notice how Kobe has the better record with a much more difficult schedule.

Premier, with your stat. knowledge, you MUST know that career stat for MJ is 5.4 apg vs Kobe's 4.4
And 81 out of 122 points is insane, especially when the other team only outscored Kobe by 23. But one game against the 4th worst team isn't significant. His individual accomplishment is. Which is what I said.
And as far as comparing Pierce to Kobe, it's apples and oranges. F/G are much different positions and come with very different scoring opportunities. As I said in my previous post, I expect Kobe to be dominant in the league for years to come. Even if PP does have a higher assist ratio. He's younger, he's the go to guy on his team, and he's very talented.
I just can't root for him. His ego is legendary as is his total disregard for anyone that isn't him.

Don't make me go back to posting pictures.
I've acknowledged his 81 points, great for him as an individual, but as far as him being on my team (with Glen Rivers the coach) I think I'd rather not.

Pierce has a better supporting crew than Kobe? What did we make a trade that I don't know about?
I'm sure Al Jefferson strikes fears into his opponents. Or maybe it's one kneed Raef LaFrentz? It could be Mr. Turnover. Or Gerald Green?
Yes, Kobe has his rings while playing with scrubs like Shaq...

He didn't get tired at the end because he's had tons of practice jacking up all those shots. :-/

Blount, Perkins = Mihm
Jefferson, LaFrentz > Cook, Brown
Davis > Odom
West> Parker

I'd take Chris Mihm over any PF/C on the Celtic roster right now.
I'd take Lamar Odom over Ricky Davis any day of the week if I already had a very good swingman (in this case Pierce).
Kwame Brown is better than Raef and Blount combined, and I love Cook.
West is better than Parker though.

Re: Kobe Bryant scores points for the children
Very hard to toss an 81 point game aside.
I think now I "barely" take Kobe over Pierce. There have been many cogent points made throughout this thread; one being that Kobe jacks up tons of shots and Pierce could score 35 a game if he had that many shots; good point, but Kobe is just a freak of nature and look at his schedule with a worst supporting cast (slightly worst).
Yep, I'd trade Pierce for Kobe, even though Kobe is inherently selfish.
