For all the pessimists
82games just posted an interesting stat:
http://www.82games.com/random1.htm
showing the percentage of each game on average that each team has the lead. We're smack in the middle of the pack at 16th in the league. The actual numbers are 44.07% leading, 47.8 trailing and the rest tied. The truly bad teams have numbers in the mid to low 30's. So while our record indicates we're one of the 5-7 worst teams in the league, there are other numbers that indicate we're not nearly so bad. And that's right now! These young guys DO have upside.
I guess I'm saying we're better than our record indicates now. Or, put another way, we're not as far from turning this around as the doomsayers are making it out to be.

Re: For all the pessimists
It doesn't make me feel much better to be losing games after leading for a long time. :-/

I do. look no one likes to lose. But there's losing where your team blows, you have no upside and have few to no tradable pieces or draft picks.
and then there's what we are. Young with big upside, lots of picks, tradable players, etc.

Re: For all the pessimists
It's the percentage of seconds played this season where the Celtics have had at least a one point lead. The stat shows the Celtics are better than what their record indicates but also shows their inability to close out games, namely because of Doc Rivers' coaching (I hear he also caused the Bubonic Plague and Germany's use of Mustard Gas in WWI). An inexperienced team plus horrid coaching leads to bad fourth quarters especially in crunch-time situations.

That pretty much summarizes it.
The Celtics are pretty good for 40 minutes. Is the last 8 where they fall apart from coaching and players who just do not know how to win a 48 minute game. We are relying too much on a coach who can't manage a game and players who are too young and cannot handle the pressure.
