Gerald Green and Josh Smith Comparison
you think Green will be exactly like Smith and be all about dunks? because personally I think green is better than smith since he can shoot the 3 better, because i heard a lot about people saying that green is simiar to smith in a lot of ways.
also how come in yahoo Green is listed as a sf and pf?

Re: Gerald Green and Josh Smith
Josh Smith is a tremendous blocker and a good rebounder. He also plays decent defense. Gerald Green, well, cannot do any of the aforementioned skills yet. Josh Smith is a much more developed player. Gerald is most similar to Dorell Wright right now, not exactly a compliment as both players are very, very raw.

Re: Gerald Green and Josh Smith Comparison
You have to remember Gerald came from HighSchooland this is his first year, you have to give him time. And no I dont think he will just be about his dunks, also Josh Smith is averaging PPG 9.2 RPG 6.30 APG 1.6. I know an extra 10 points and 7 rebounds would help the C's alot

Re: Gerald Green and Josh Smith Comparison
Gerald Green was a great shooter in HS. He's more of TMac, and Josh Smith is more like Marion. Green has much better handles, but Smith is stronger and is a much better defensive player at this point. I don't think Green is anything like Smith.

Yea, I remember watching videos of Green when he was in highschool he dominated the league, not a bad shooter either

Re: Gerald Green and Josh Smith Comparison
JR Smith and fodder could've been had for Olowokandi, I believe. Bryon Scott just doesn't like him and the Hornets needed center help. It's too bad the Nets acted fast and cleared luxury tax space by trading Marc Jackson and Linton Johnson.

Re: Gerald Green and Josh Smith Comparison
There not similar really at all except they can dunk. They play diffrent positions. Gerald is skinny and isnt very good at defesnse, but can score the ball and has a nice stroke for the outside. Josh is more of a 3/4 tweener. He is strong and can rebound the ball down low. He is a great shotblocker.
Gerald= shooting guard/ small forward, offense ability
Josh= power forward/ small forward, defense ability

Re: Gerald Green and Josh Smith Comparison
I think they should start Green rather than Wally or even split mins, unless they are really trying to get the 8th seed (which I think is pointless). I think if you get Green some good mins then he can acutally show something. Just look at Kirk Sydner of the hornets

One more thing, Josh Smith is a terrible jumpshooter.

Re: Gerald Green and Josh Smith Comparison
I see almost no similarities in their games so I don't know why anyone would compare them at all other than they are both High School picks.

Re: Gerald Green and Josh Smith Comparison
Gerald reminds me a lot of JR Smith. He is a little longer but they are similarly raw and their best attributes are shooting and dunking. I also believe we could of gotten JR at the deadline for little. Maybe Tony Allen+ garb.
