Re: Quick thought...
Yes, I'm sure we've all noticed Banks' ascent in Minnesota. All I have to say to you all who though Banks was a scrub is, "I told you so." 12/3/4 with a steal on 52% shooting and 33% from three as a T-Pup.
He still makes bad decisions, but he's gonna be a really good player.

Re: Quick thought...
I always did like Banks, was sorry to see him leave. But we couldn't have known that West would get hurt, and we seem to be playing great anyways

"always look at the bright side of life..."
So it's cool in here to bring up players we traded if they are playing pretty well: Banks.
If they have become bench role players when they thought they were supers-stars - don't bring it up: Walker.
Anyway - most Celtics fans liked Banks. He did not get a fair shot here for whatever reason (Doc). I doubt too many people in here are surprised now that he's getting minutes that he looks pretty good. I also don't think people are too surprised that Blount has returned to his ild sourpuss self. Ricky will get his #'s but will it equal W's?
But I don't think they could have kept Banks and West. I still think of the 2 players they made the right call but time will tell.

Re: Quick thought...
Actually, Cause, Slick that well in Minnesota. His shooting %'s are terrible. However, Wally needs to step up more often. As I said in the other thread, it's hard to win games when your sidekick only notches 13 points and goes entire halves without putting the ball in the hoop.

2 completely different scenarios...banks has no where near reached the prime of his career...we gave up on him too quick...walker was at the peak of his career when we first traded him...he hasnt declined as much as you think he has as well...his year in dallas as a "bench role player" he averaged 14-8-5 in 34 minutes of play...about the same ratio per minute stats as in boston...then he was back up to his 20-9-4 in atlanta when he was the number one option...now as a bench role player hes averaging 12-6-2 in 27 mpg...if you stretch out his stats to a per-40 minute basis as he was playing in boston 4 or 5 yrs ago his numberas this year would be 18-9-3...hes still got the talent...he hasnt fallen off as much as ppl think but with shaq and wade in front of you your numbers are sure to drop

Re: Quick thought...
His shooting %'s are also up thanks to those two, and they're still garbage for a PF. Sure, if he was a #1 option in Boston he'd still be getting his 18/9/4 or whatever, but he'd also be doing it:
a) outside the offense
b) playing garbage defense
You can't even use the "Pierce plays better with him" argument because P is having the best year of his career. I said I thought I wanted Walker back, but I rescind that statement.

Re: Quick thought...
whatever way you put it with walker we win 45 games and are definitely a playoff team...yea no championship blahblahblah 28 out of the 29 teams dont win a championship or is it 30 whatever id rather watch a winning team in the playoffs year in and out then a sub-400 team that MIGHT get to that level in 4 years...once you get in the playoffs anyone has a chance to win the title...when you dont make the playoffs you have nothing and i dont see the cs making the playoffs unless we go out and get some help...im not saying go out and get walker...im saying trade SOME of our youth to get some help now so we have a bright future still and yet have a winning competative team...as ive said b4 im not a big fan of the youth and draft pick movement...didnt work for the clippers...doubt it will work for us

Maybe. If you think that horrific contract Danny duped the Heat into taking and a first round exit are what this team needs, then I guess I can't help you. We would've had to tie him up in a long term deal that would've only further handcuffed the cap. If Gomes keeps playing at his 13/9 pace, I'll gladly take him over Walker any day of the week.
Personally, I'm all for trading some youth/picks for pieces to help now, and Danny must be, too, because otherwise why acquire Szczerbiak?
By the way, the Clipps look ok this year.

Re: Quick thought...
I don't think anyone should be surprised that Banks is doing well. He has a coaching staff that doesn't hate him and he's getting an actual chance.
As for not knowing West would get hurt, how many injuries and games missed has he had in his career already??
We need to get him some Osteo-biflex or something, he seems to have some rotten luck that way.
