I'm not trying to jinx the team, it's just what I see. Milwaukee is free falling, and Chicago is only a game up. The way Boston is playing I really see them grabbing the 8th seed.

It's incredible and I have to tip my hat to Danny Ainge, every year he makes a deal people say is terrible.. and every year the team is fighting around the playoffs. They keep getting younger and younger but they still have talent. If these guys pan out (and Doc Rivers is eventually replaced) I could see these guys easily sitting in the top spot of the Atlantic for years.

Ainge is the only GM in the division, that I truly say has a vision of what he wants in the future.

Nice post! I fully agree. I guess it takes some wins for people to finally start buying into what Ainge has done here - and is doing. Coatesvillain you are a prime candidate for my Ainge Club!

OK, here's my beef with Ainge. It has not been the players that he has brought in through the draft, as he has done quite a good job with the draft. Nor has it been that they have been fighting for the playoff each year. My realy objection to Ainge is his strategy in Free Agency, Scalabrine?? OK maybe hes a servicable bench player, but he is not worth the amount of money that he gave him. You can get players that do pretty much the same as him for far less money. Dickau I understood the desire to get him, and I cannot grade him on that as Dickau really hasn't had an opportunity to play for the most part because of injury and partly because of Doc (and given Doc's rotations, I'd bet that Dickau is one hell of a player, but Doc doesn't like him).

Also responding to your post, yes I can see the Celtics on top of the Atlantic division for years to come too, So what? I don't really call that much of an accomplishment. They won the division last year too and look what happened. I would hope that Ainge's goal is to win a championship and not just division titles.

Sure, why not. I don't like losing. I'd prefer not to tank. Especially when the draft isn't even that strong. Let's get our young'ns some playoff experience.

I think this team feels like they are playing for something now, which is great. If we don't get in it is fine but I like the fact that there will be some meaningful games down the stretch for these guys the way Milwaukee has been playing. You want to have as many games as you can, with this young group, that mean something for either the Celtics or the opponent.

I hate making the playoffs with no shot at winning...But, the way we have been playing, it would be fun to see what they can do if they make it...

as long Gomes continues to be great, we'll win a ****load of games. Funny how when he became a scoring-rebounding force we seem to do well and win/stay in every game, the only exception in Toronto. Gomes made u look mighty stupid Doc

It's a young team though, so making the playoffs would be a positive. If Gerald Green is half as good as people expect by next season, this team would be in great shape.

Danny Ainge's ultimate goal is to win a championship, look at how he's building the team, the fact that they can still compete is incredible. They're a hard working bunch, who should continue to get better. Now will they be good enough to compete with Detroit in the next few years? That's the question, to get there a lot of these young players are really going to have to become the players people expect them to be.

finishing out the season strong where winning becomes contagious and is the expectation of the players will build more confidence and be far more beneficial towards building momentum for success next season than any one player in the draft will provide from this upcoming draft

I CANNOT BELIEVE MORE PEOPLE AREN"T ON THIS. Does anyone realize that it took the fate of two injuries just to get this guy off the bench?? Doc is a joke. A complete and utter joke of a coach. Anyway, it fits with what the Celtics have done of late with talented young players.

Joe Johnson....Chauncey Billups....Marcus Banks....and could have been Gomes too.

The Celtics will make the play offs, and maybe into the 2nd round. We are only 4 1/2 games out of 6th place! And guess who is in 6th place, THE BUCKS and we will play tonight. If we get 6th seed we will probably play New Jersey first round. Instead of the 8th seed vs Detroit first.
