M.L. Carr
What can Boston fans tell me about him?
Rumors are swirling around Atlanta that Boston-native Steve Belkin will gain 100% control of the Atlanta Hawks, and has already hired ML Carr to be his general manager.

Re: M.L. Carr
All I know about him is the 1 year that he coached the Celts we only won 15 games! He was also a good towelwaiver for the Celtics back in the 80's. Thats all I can tell you about him.

Re: M.L. Carr
He knows how to tank a season. Even though we didn't land him, we had the greatest chance of getting Timmy D.
I can tell you more about Belkin though.
He was the only smart one in the Johnson deal. (I called it, too.)

Yeah, huh? Joe Johnson was awesome and worth that deal. That team doubled it's wins and can only get better with the young talent around him. 70 Million was not that big of a contract, anyhow.

lol, it was just 2. One was 21st pick this yr from Atlanta through Boston from LA, which we sold because we weren't high on the players who were there. Just went to waste, really.
Sure Diaw became a stud but it worked out for both teams though.

Re: M.L. Carr
ML:
Nice guy. A "company guy" in that he'll do what's asked of him - with a smile. The 15 win season was one of the more obvious "tanks" in the NBA. That's why he was coaching the team. He's not the brightest guy but one of the few that could clearly be coaching a team with a tank goal and smile after each game. He also is a big Walker fan which is enough for me to know about him.
Nice guy but I would not want him as GM. More of a PR kind of guy.

Diaw doesn't have the type of personality to do that. I think it was culture of the environment. It doesn't work out everywhere.

Re: M.L. Carr
Steve Nash seems like the type who could make people look pretty decent.
I dont' think ML Carr is the type who could make a winner out of the Hawks. He played for the Celtics through some high moments, but he was our coach in one of the lowest. If he wasn't followed immediately by Rick Pitino, people would remember how bad that team was more than we do.

I thought ML Carr had an ownership interest in the Bobcats?
