Dollar Trade for Kobe?

Would you guys do this trade? We would be giving a lot of good brain types, but we'd be getting Kobe in return.

Wally Szczerbiak
Brian Scalabrine
Sebastian Telfair
Gerald Green

Re: Trade for Kobe?

There is zero chance that the Lakers will want B-Cup or Gunsmoke. You would need to include Ratliff so that they could make a run at Rashard Lewis and probably another kid so that they could pitch Utah on AK-47. Or trade Wally/whatever for AK-47 and then package him with Ratliff, a 2008 #1 and Minnesota's future first. That scoring troika would be the best in the east, and allow them to add a defender at the 4/5 without worrying about his scoring ability.

i agree with eh...this would be lovely but its impossible...it would have to be theo, wally, gerald, delonte and the 5 for kobe if we didnt want to give up pierce or Al...and as much as everyone may hate kobe he is a great basketball player and id do that deal in a heartbeat...rajon and kobe make one of the if not the best defensive backcourt in the league and kobe / pierce / Al is offense til forever

with the age of miami and the disbarring of detroit in the near future the c's would go from being laugingstocks to the top of the eastern conference overnight

You misread my post. I stated that the trade is not going to happen because it is unrealistic. I did not imply that Al is untouchable.

This is the same team that traded Shaq to the Heat and didn't demand their best player (Wade) in return. I think we could give them a package without Al or Pierce.

Yeah they didn't ask for their best player. Al isn't our best player though, that would be Pierce. I can't imagine them not wanting Al. That being said I imagine that Danny does not want to trade Al and in the end I can't see them getting much more than what we can offer. The Bulls can offer more in terms of talent, but I'm not sure they can offer the same in terms of cap relief.

With all that being said...I don't see the Lakers ever trading their star to the Celtics...I just can't see it.

Re: Trade for Kobe?

I must have missed the part where the Lakers will be trading an MVP caliber player for .03 cents on the dollar.

Re: Trade for Kobe?

Lakers if they ove Kobe will not get equal value. Never happens. Having said that, LA will not trade Kobe to Boston. And Boston is not on Kobe's short list of destinations - and with the "no trade", he'll have a say.
