Re: Reported trade on the table...Jermaine to Boston, KG to LA
If we could hold onto Al amd get JO, that would be sweet. But to trade Al to get JO does not make sense. We'll see what happenes...crazy time right now.

Odom at PF and JO at center? I'm not sure, you can say you want to have a speed offense but not if you don't have the right players.

Re: Reported trade on the table...Jermaine to Boston, KG to LA
I'll pass on any (realistic) deal that includes both #5 and Jefferson.
Some of the recent rumors (#5 and Jefferson plus garbage for AK or #5 and Jefferson for O'Neal) are just terrible.
We wouldn't give up #5 and Al for KG, why would we give them up for a guy that plays half the season or a guy that plays half the season and averages 10/5.

Does make it sound pretty unlikely. Of course Antoine came back to play after a war of words in the media between him and Ainge...

That's our Danny. Pissing off NBA players and keeping us stuck in the dumps.

Re: Reported trade on the table...Jermaine to Boston, KG to LA
There is a reason nobody wants Jermaine O'Neal. And that reason is that he's 10 kinds of overrated. And overpaid. And injury-prone. And a whiner. Hmmmm... maybe he'd be a perfect fit for Boston so they can plausibly tank for whoever next year's Awesome Super-Duper Player is. Yes, that must be Ainge's plan. Well played, sir! Well played.

Re: Reported trade on the table...Jermaine to Boston, KG to LA
I haven't really watched O'Neal recently, but I never really thought he was that great before. On our way to the ECF that year with Walker and Pierce, O'Neal consistently disappeared in the fourth quarter. Walker did a decent job defensively on him, but come on. In the World Basketball Championships where Pierce took the heat for their losses, O'Neal again did nothing, but he got none of the blame.
O'Neal can put up nice numbers, but when it comes to crunch time, he doesn't seem to be able to elevate his game to a new level like most superstars can. I guess he could work alongside Pierce because Pierce can be counted on to elevate his game, but I certainly wouldn't give up Al for that.
I'm tired of these guys saying they don't want to play for Boston for this reason or that reason. If they are as good as they think they are, then they should openly accept the challenge of vaulting the Celtics from the bottom to the elite. They all want the easy way out of joining a team that's already a winner just so they can get their ring and be hailed as heroes. If they went to a struggling team and turned them into a winner, that would be more of an accomplishment. Remember when Jason Kidd joined the Nets? That team was horrendous the year before but had pretty much the same players plus Marbury. Kidd took them all the way to the finals (to the dismay of the Celtics). I hope these guys who refuse to play for the Celtics end up like Karl Malone, who left the Jazz to go to the Lakers to get a ring and didn't get one.

Re: Reported trade on the table...Jermaine to Boston, KG to LA
I'd like to see all these baby superstars get screwed. The players Union has too much power. You are getting paid $15 million or whatever - you'll play for the team I tell you to play for. And play hard. Too bad. As much as I hate the Lakers, I'd love to see them trade Kobe, only to see the Lakers get to the finals and Kobe's new team suck.
