WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Boston Celtics expect to keep the fifth pick in the NBA draft despite speculation about trades for veterans Kevin Garnett and Shawn Marion, the man who will make the choice said Wednesday.
"I think it's unlikely," the pick will be traded, Danny Ainge said. "I've felt that way from the beginning, that these trades are hard to come by."
Ainge, the executive director of basketball operations, scoffed at reports of possible deals and refused to comment on any of them. What appears certain is that he knows who he'll take Thursday night depending on who's available. And he said he's convinced that player can make a major impact as a rookie.
wow big surprise there. Welcome Corey Brewer!

Well, if I have to choose between Ainge's word or Pierce's agent's, I think I'll take the agent's word.

I think Brewer would be a good selection, but him, Jefferson and Pierce aren't enough. Either add on to them three and make a good playoff team, or trade Pierce IMO.

Mean mean joke. Becuase Danny would turn down that deal for god only knows why...
Edit: after checking out the Seattle board apparently this was reported by some radio station. I'm not sure why Seattle would want to do this, nor do I know why Danny would turn this down...

Why would Seattle do this?
They'd have a core to build around with. Durant + #5 pick = good!

Unlike Danny Ainge, I expect Pierce's agent to do what his employer tells him to. One of the two is trying to save his job, the other simply doing what his client asks him to.
