Nothing too surprising here. The draftees join Green, Powe, Ray, and Rondo. To that, we've added three bigs, a swing man, a small Spaniard dude, and a coat rack.
I think we'll be seeing Rondo, Pruitt, Green, Powe, and Davis starting.
For the others:
Lance Allred - 6-11 - 270 - Weber State
He's a good story as he has a hearing impairment and suffered through a year of verbal abuse from Rick Majerus before transfering to Weber, whoere we averaged 17 and 12 as a senior. He played for the Idaho Stampede of the D-League and averaged 10 and 6 during the regular season, but put up 24 and 17 in 48 minutes in a single playoff game. He seems like a poster player with 52% shooting and 80% from the line last season.
Pat Carroll - 6-5 - 190 - St. Joeseph's
According to wikipedia (a reliable academic source), he's quite the three point shooter who played with Delonte on the St. Joe's team that went 30-2. He played in Italy after graduating in 05, but injured his shoulder and returned for surgery and rehab. For the 06-07 season, he participated with Houston's sumer league team, and was signed (and swiftly waived) by the Mavericks.
Torin Francis - 6-11 - 252 - Notre Dame
He's a local guy, born in Boston and went to Tabor Academy before college. Francis went undrafted, then joined Miami's summer league team before going to Italy's Serie A and averaging 7 points and five boards.
Andreas Glyniadakis - 7-1 - 280 - Greece
Drafted by the Pistons in the second round in 03, but stayed in Greece until 05-06. In Greece, didn't play much and has fairly unimpressive numbers. He played for Alberquerque in the D-League this year and averaged 15 points and 5 boards, while shooting 52% from the field and 77% from the line.
Eric Hicks - 6-6 - 245 - Cincinnati
Hicks is either a late addition to the roster, or I just skipped him when I did my first write up. Hicks stuck with the Cincinnati program after Bob Huggins left. In 05-06, his final season there, he averaged 15 points and 9.7 boards while shooting 48% from the field. I cannot find any info on what he was doing last season.
Sergio Sanchez - 6-3 - 207 - Spain
He played for Estudiantes Madrid last season, with a bunch of guys I have never heard of. Sanchez averaged 6.7 puntos last season, and appears to have shot 36% from the floor but 47% from three and 94% from the line. I think he played 18 minutes a game, but the stats I found are in Spanish and found
here.
Brandon Wallace - 6-9 - 203 - South Carolina
Wallace averaged 9.9 points and 9.4 boards a night last season as a senior. He shot 47% from the floor and had 2.9 blocks a night. Unless this guy is Rodman Jr., he'll need to add some serious muscle before being a serious NBA prospect. For the record, Rodman was listed at 228.
A rumor I saw elsewhere was that Albert Miralles would be joining the team. He was a throw-in in a Miami deal. As best I can tell from a Spanish language site, he averaged 6.1 points and 3.9
rebotes, while shooting 40% from the floor and 63% from the line.
The other rumor that is going around campus is that St. Bonaventure's finest, JR Bremer was trying to hitch up with the Celtics again. Bremer is currently playing for KK Bosnia of (take a guess) Bosnia. It seems like a bit of a wild story, but for the record the former fan favorite scored 71 points in five games last season for the Bosnians.
