Quentin Richardson was not backing down from his remarks that he was not in "awe" of the Celtics' Big Three, one day after Boston beat the Knicks by 45 points.

"I don't really care if a big deal was made," Richardson said Friday. "I still believe the same thing that I believed before the game."

Kevin Garnett revealed after Thursday's game that Celtics coach Doc Rivers posted Richardson's comments in the team's locker room. Garnett said he and his teammates were motivated by Richardson's quotes.

"I'm a competitive athlete," Richardson added. "I'm not about to be afraid of anyone because they have three great players. Because they have Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, are we supposed to crawl into a corner and say we're afraid to play them? Go ask the other 29 teams and you show me a player that says he's afraid to go play them. I've never heard of that."

How about, say nothing once he lost. Beforehand before he got beat, fine but after the fact his team lost? Is he even the leader of the knicks? NOPE. He was also with the homliest most overrated hoebag in Brandy. He has taste alright and very good judgment .

I hope you realize that it's not like he called a press conference. What you don't see in articles are the questions the reporter undoubtedly asked him. He was asked about his quote and he answered. Nothing that wrong with it.

I don't see anything wrong with Q's statement either. All the best athletes should have that fearless mentality. It doesn't matter if you beat them 10 times by 50 points, they still think they can win the next one.

i understand that richardson was only responding to a question asked of him...but instead of saying "they aint won nothing yet..." blahblahblah he could answer respectfully like "we are going to go out there and play hard like we do every game" or something of that sort...he doesnt have to say "i aint scared of the big 3 they aint nothing yet etc..." ESPECIALLY when his team is so bad that it wouldnt even win the wnba championship...had tim duncan said the dame thing, it would be different

THANK YOU! You are so right. It would be 100% justified had Duncan said it or even Lebron. Q Rich is a crap player who can hit some threes on a crap team. Try telling these other ppl that tho. They think Q Rich was totally justified for saying that.
