Rondo
Has been very good for us this season.
He's averaging 9 points on 53% shooting, 4 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals a game.
His last few games have been awesome, and I really like his stat line. It shows his all around game, that goes along with his great D. His all around game and defense is perfectly paired with all the star power. People were saying that he wouldn't fit well with the Big 3 because he's a playmaker and not an off the ball scorer. But who says that the ball has to be in their hands 100% of the time? These guys are stars because they can do everything. So if Rondo makes a play and on of the Big Three finishes it, I'd say that is a good fit. Rondo's jumper will definitely be a problem, but it is steadily improving and he looks confident in it. He just needs to shoot more, gain more range, and knock down his free throws. But so far he's been a very good player for us.

Re: Rondo
Gotta give House his props aswell... these 2 have worked perfectly from the point guard spot, doing exactly what is needed from them.
Rondo definately has improved his jumper, and apart from being a little erratic sometimes always seems to make the right pass.
Proving the fans of many other teams wrong by performing like this is rajon

Re: Rondo
I didn't understand when people said that a team with Garnett, Allen and Pierce who are all capable of making plays need someone who will take the ball out of their hands more than necessary. Rondo is a good complementary player because he knows his limitations, but is capable of making up for that with good defense, he also hardly forces anything which is a sign of maturity.
Just because he can't shoot (although like you said he has improved his midrange jumper consideraby) doesn't mean he can't play or he has a low basketball IQ. He is asked not to be a blackhole on offense which he has proven not to be, and more than that he has shown to be a solid point guard for many years to come.

Re: Rondo
Gets some great steals too, a lot of fast break points come from rondo raking the ball or getting in the passing lanes with his speed.
he does just enough on offense to not be a black hole and yet doesnt get in the way or dominate the ball when the stars are on the court.

Re: Rondo
His value was really evident against the Bucks. When he wasn't on the floor, the offense went stagnant. I like Eddie House, but he can't create like Rondo can. This is only the beginning of his second year in the league, and he's shown so much growth. It's no longer just potential anymore. He's showing he belongs out there. I was impressed with him last year, and I'm even more impressed this year. He fits in with his team. There are arguably several better PGs out there, but not many of them would mesh with the team as well as Rondo. He has no ego, and that's the best for the team. I just wish we had another guy similar to him to back him up. Pruitt actually looks like he could be a candidate. He's a good shooter like House, but I think he has a few more PG qualities than House. House seems more suited to a backup SG. If Pruitt can grow quickly like Davis has, he could be more valuable sooner than later.

Re: Rondo
He is definately very mature for a second year player, its nice to see all those worries about the PG spot before the start of the season went un-warrented

Re: Rondo
I said when we signed him it was a great pickup. I thought he was under rated.
And with who he has around him, he will develop quickly.
The kid showed tremendous heart last year and this year, imagine how happy he is!

Re: Rondo
I will still not expect Rondo to get a lot better and for now for him to get better, we need a true veteran point like Sam Cassell. He NEEDS to come next offseason. I don't put higher potential on Rondo really. Expect 10-11ppg, 4 boards 6 assists and 2 steals in his prime. So sg numbers in every category besides scoring. Anyone think he can get more?

YES! Rondo can and will get better. He's a top 10 sophomore guard statistically and he's very close to the stats you mention right now. He gets Allen to mentor him.
As for Cassell, let's see how he comes back from this injury.

Re: Rondo
Im not extremely impressed. If he can lead the league in steals and just do that well, be thankful. We put too much potential on our young guys when their really not "that good". Rondo does have good points in his game but tons and tons of holes too. Getting this many minutes a game, he should be doing better.
