Hey Celts fans, just thought I'd drop in and get your opinions on the Lakers picking up Gasol and how it will effect the Boston/LA rivalry. Of course it may not happen this season, but I'm really looking forward to a another Lakers/Celtics finals matchup in the near future. It's been a hell of a long time since this rivalry meant anything, but it looks like we might just have the league's top two teams once again.

It could happen. I don't know why not as long as the Lakers get everybody healthy and the team gelling come playoffs time. I don't think it's that far fetched at all. I think the Lakers on paper are the better team with everybody healthy, plus, Phil Jackson is no Doc Rivers.
Well we dont play them again this season unless both teams make the finals, which is unlikely.
I think the C's are the better team personally, and all those unknowns we ahd to answer the Lakers will have to now... In a match up KG will be a nightmare for them

it will be hard for the celtics to match-up against kobe, odom, bynum, and gasol. its gonna be fun to watch the lakers once bynum comes back.
A Lakers/Celtics Finals would definitely be something special.

If the Lakers and Celtics make the Finals, I would pitch the idea to the forum admins to remove all posting rules. Aside from racial slurs, politically incorrect jargon, etc., all name calling and insults would be allowed. We could hate each other.

With ET headed for the Celtics soon, I'd say Boston's looking more and more like a prohibitive favourite in the East.
