Backup Point?
I heard a ESPN writer saying something about how Loius Williams isnt getting the role he deserves in Philadelphia...mainly playing backup to Andre Miller. What do you think of a Scott Pollard for Louis Williams trade? they both have the same contract 1yr,($770,610)

Re: Backup Point?
We need Pollard for the happiness on the bench with his jokes.

Re: Backup Point?
Louis Williams? I thought the whole point of getting another point was to have a proven player on the bench?

Re: Backup Point?
Besides Philly has their mind set on him being a superstar.. just ask the fans. They are so naive that they believe the Allen Iverson comparisons from years ago.

Well, in fairness, he's not that much shorter than our current starting center. (but you're right that Philly isn't dealing Williams for the remnants of a backup center).

Louis Williams is going to be a pretty good lead guard, I'm not sure what you makes you think otherwise.

Re: Backup Point?
Tyronne Lue has apparently been pursued by Boston and is a good friend of KG, be interesting to see if he stays on in Sacramento
Also they Released Justin Williams who could fill in while Baby and Perk are injured for like 400k

Re: Backup Point?
JUSTIN REED BABY!!!!!
Oh wait...
Again, isn't the point of adding another backup bigman or point guard to have a reliable veteran for the playoffs?

Re: Backup Point?
It is, but depth could be in issue in the meantime if Scal/Perk/Baby have to miss games, let alone if KG isnt back by tuesday.. was just a thought.
Oh and Lue would be an ok addition regardless, not sure on his status with Sactown though

Re: Backup Point?
Rumor has the Clippers trying to make a deal with Memphis for Mike Miller with Expirings, including Sam Cassel... could be good for us as i dont think Sam would be sticking around

Re: Backup Point?
Louis Williams is pretty damn good, but he's more of a combo guard than anything else. Eddie House is already here, you know. If the Grizzlies waive Cassell, that would great. We have greater needs, namely at center. Also, another backup wing player that can score would only help.

Re: Backup Point?
The wings as long as everyone is healthy i think we are ok... we have Allen/Allen/House all able to play the 2, even Posey and Pierce could slide over for a bigger line up.. and same with the SF position (obviously replacing House with Scal).
The wings are fine, If we had a big bangin 7 footer back up, and a back up point with reliable handles, passing and a decent jump shot we would be complete
still, only minor back up roles that need filling, the team itself has looked great as is

The team Boston currently puts onto the floor will likely look the same for the remainder of the season.
Executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said that "nothing is happening" and it's been "very quiet" regarding trade talk. "I like our team," Ainge said. "We're all set. Nothing is happening for us."
|
I dont mind the no trade part, thats to be completely expected.... but "no moves" worries me a bit, this team isnt complete to the point we shouldnt even look at picking up some depth players
