Celtics vs Jazz (3/14) - 7:30 on CSNHD
@
(43-23) .....................(51-12)
So far during this road trip, the Jazz have impersonated Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde about as well as an NBA team can. They looked lifeless against the Bulls for the first half of the game, then couldn't match the energy they brought in the 2nd half resulting in a silly loss, and then against the Bucks they drop the hammer, take a big lead, piss it away, then mount a comeback in the last few minutes of the game to steal a win.
To say the least, the Jazz will need a 100%, 48-minute offensive and defensive effort tonight to beat Boston, on the road. They can probably afford Ray Allen's long-range shooting, but the places they'll need to especially focus on are rebounding and defending Paul Pierce. A bad 4-5 minute stretch against this team is something they absolutely cannot afford, and if it happens, the Jazz are toast. Don't expect a last-minute comeback this time.
Ever since getting Garnett back, the C's have been rolling. They've won their last 10 in a row, and re-established themselves as the most dominant team in the NBA. At home, they're just behind the Jazz for the best homecourt record in the NBA, standing currently at 28-4.
Boston's focus still needs to reside on defense. They have the superstar scorers to maintain any kind of offense, but if they play even decent defense on the Jazz and shut down Boozer or Williams, it'll likely be a Celtics win. This is a team really with no weakness at all, so if they play their game, Utah is the team that will need to over-play to get a win.

Re: Celtics vs Jazz (3/14) - 7:30 on CSNHD
I think the Celtics are playing the best basketball they've played since the beginning of the season. It's not too surprising, since everybody's healthy again. All of the big three are playing great. It looks like Allen is back into his groove, which is awesome to see. House looks like he has his shooting touch back, which will be invaluable when we go to our bench. Perkins has been most impressive lately. He's rebounding and blocking shots like he's supposed to and doing a good job of staying out of foul trouble.
Even though Seattle is a bad team, they still have a potent offense, but the Celtics still shut them down big time. Philly had been playing great lately, but the Celtics put them in their place. Yet Philly turned around and beat the Pistons. I honestly think if the Celtics stay healthy through the playoffs, they have a very good chance of winning it all. The Seattle game showed how hard it is to play the Celtics. Pierce was a monster in the first quarter, KG was a monster in the second quarter, and Allen was a monster in the third quarter. And the fourth quarter didn't matter. I'm not implying we're going to see any team like Seattle in the playoffs, so it obviously won't be that easy, but how will teams deal with the onslaught of the three very hungry superstars for four quarters night in and night out? And on any given night, one or more of the supporting cast could have an outstanding game. Rondo, Perk, Davis, Powe, Posey, House, Tony Allen - every one of them has come up big during the season. And once Cassell and Brown get into the swing of things, they could come up big, too.
I'm just thrilled with the potential of this team, but I'm still cautious after seeing what happened to the Patriots. However, while teams may be able to win games against the Celtics, winning 4 out of 7 will require near perfect basketball or a total collapse of the Celtics, especially if the Celtics have homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs.

Against the jazz you gotta go to the ring, get the big guys the ball in the post and pierce needs to slash.
Rondo/KG (or perk) will have their hands full with Deron and Boozer, but i think we pull out a tight win here and take the streak to 11

The Celtics will win this solidly.
The first time around, Boston beat Utah in front of their incredible home crowd. They're 28-3 at home. But their road record is 15-20. Our home record is 29-4. They have no answer for Pierce or Allen.

This should be a great game. I remember the game in Utah, the game was a hard fought win for the Celtics.

I remember that game also. That was such a nerve racking game. The atmosphere created by the Utah crowd is intense. I remember Pierce having 0 in the 1st half, and then scoring 24 in the 2nd, getting anything he wanted in the paint in the clutch. Tony Allen played great and got like 3 steals on Williams to open the 3rd. Ray Allen also kept it in the Celtics favor with a prayer of a 3 in the clutch.

Yep, you're right on the money regarding that game. It was one of those first western road wins the Celtics got. And one where us as fans of the Celtics could finally start telling the doubters look the C's have beat an excellent western team on the road. Now try, and tell us why Boston isn't as good as their record indicates. And even if you look back now further from that time period. That win is really really impressive for the Celtics, considering the Jazz have the best home record.
I can't wait for this game tonight it will be very intense. Also make sure to watch the Lakers/Hornets game if you can, it should be another heated battle down in New Orleans. NBA is amazing!

I'll have this game on on my computer and the Lakers game on my TV, which is in the same room as my computer, so today will be a great day of basketball.

The start doesn't look so good.
We're not getting the defensive rebounds, and Garnett is taking every shot. Deron looks like he'll be a real problem.

Pierce needs to get going TO THE BASKET. No one on the Jazz will stop him from that.
We need to play some god damn defense.

Boston has an excellent home crowd. Utah vs Boston in the finals would be a showcasing of the two best home crowds in the NBA.
