Hunter looked tired out there, it's the first time he played a full game. But he's a BANGER.
Good game, phew we almost won.

Paul fouled out with 2:43 remaining and the C's down 2. That same difference was there at the end of the game.
I liked Chucky and Hunter, Blount played sensational, & Paul always gives what he can. But this team seems to have a rather "benign" essence about it - not the mean green machine it was the last couple of years. Hopefully, as these new guys get acclimated to one another, the "wins" will increase.
I'll say that the team misses the leadership of Walker ( not to mention how he demanded his opponent to guard him, so Paul would get MUCH better looks than he has this year) - but I'm glad he is playing for Nellie.

It is more then Walker's leadership this team is missing.
The team is unwatchable. Even in close games like this I find myself switching channel's (a lot) I am so bored.

Gee, I thought the only unwatchable guy was Pierce. Everyone else looked fine.

Pierce was under his average for turnovers
I find this whole team unwatchable. I don't like a single player on the team. I don't find them fun even when they win.

Well, this team has been horrible and unwatchable but Brandon Hunter is worth the watch today. I really hope he starts more until the rest of the season.
PP is not playing up to his potential and he's been lost this season but if he comes back next season in shape and better conditioned, this team should show some improvement next season.

Nonetheless, everyone - Carroll included - knows that it will now be hard to keep Hunter out of the lineup.
``It would be hard not to reward him for the play that he had,'' Carroll said. ``He had a great stat line the other night in Portland (10 points, eight rebounds, nine minutes on Saturday), but I wanted to see if he could do that in the first or second quarter when the game really meant something. And I think obviously he proved to all of us that he can. I don't think anyone could have expected him to do as well in as many areas as he did.
``Brandon has always been a wonderful rebounder, so that didn't surprise me at all. But his ability to score under the basket, he obviously did that in the summer league, but tonight he did it in an NBA setting.''

This is the best news I have heard in a long time! If he gets 35 minutes a night I am going to enjoy the rest of the season.
But I am worried for Banks minutes. He played 5 and Atkins 43 tonight!? That is not good. He needs to play more!

Great game by Hunter
That was a great game by Hunter last night in his first start, kid can play it was great to see the effort he put in last night 17/9, he did seem to get tired and it did seem like he hurt himself in the third quarter but it was an exciting game to watch, great game also by Blount but that guy has hands of stone, he had 20/10 but he should have had 24 or 25 some passes right to him bounce off of his hands, but I liked what I saw, if we hit half of the free throws we missed we would have won, a good game by Atkins also no offense to Mike James but he is not a point guard and you see what can happen when you have a real point guard that can get people the ball where they need to get it, I predict that we will win on Friday.

This is the first game in a VERY LONG time that I really enjoyed. Brandon Hunter is a player, he will be a Carlos Boozer type guy, he can flat out play. So what if he slowed down at the end, it's the first time the kid has gotten real minutes, he's not used to it yet. Chucky Atkins is great, I love his fire, he's got heart and that's what we DESPERATELY need....I know he's not gonna play 43 min a game so I'm not worried about that...if Marcus still gets 15 a game I'm fine with that, the kid needs to show me more at this point. Chucky is an ACTUAL point guard, that is what we have wanted for soooo long. Also, Chris Mihm played VERY well last night and should have gotten more minutes, I LOVE the combination of Mihm and Hunter. I don't care what kind of numbers Blount has he can't catch a freaking ball and it makes me mental
Now they just gotta start getting Kendrick some minutes and I will be THRILLED!

Blount easily outplayed Mihm..He rebounded unlike Mihm (3)..Atleast Blount isn't Daniel Grahm..

Atkins seems to be a better player than I thought he was. I guess it's from watching the string of point guards the Celtics have had. I'd forgotten what real passing looks like. Atkins rewarded guys who ran and got open. Maybe Atkins will light a fire under Pierce and prove that if Pierce runs, he'll be rewarded.
I liked what I saw of Hunter. It was refreshing. I wouldn't say he's going to be that consistent the rest of the season, but I think by next season, he could be a very valuable guy if not a genuine star. The guy's a work horse, and you can tell he wants to play and learn.
