EDIT: Lost by five to Miami, totally because of inept rebounding, lack of interior D, and no real pg. Made a few trades:
Raef LaFrentz for Samuel Dalembert
Dan Dickau, Curtis Borchardt, and a 1st rounder for Gary Payton and Martell Webster
|
Blount for Drew Gooden always works, I even got a 2nd rounder.
Put him on the block, you'll get some nice deals, to me Gooden for Blount is the best because Gooden has 1 year left. You can let Al practice for 1 year until he's ready.

I'm loving this game. Paul is a beast. I think he's averaging 29/7/5 right now.

Celtics Reunite Former College Teammates
In a trade before the regular season the Celtics have acquired PG- Jameer Nelson from the Orlando Magic. Nelson, a college teammate of Delonte West averaged 8.7 ppg, 3 apg and shot 45% from the floor in 79 games for the Magic last season. The two were a lethal duo at the college level and look to move their game to the NBA.
Celtics Get:
#7- Jameer Nelson
#42- Stacey Augmon (for the contracts to work)
Magic Get:
#11- Marcus Banks
#42- Tony Allen
Future 1st
Other notes: Al Jefferson has switched his jersey number from 7 to 8. The new Celtics starting lineup will be Jameer Nelson/Delonte West/Paul Pierce/Raef LaFrentz/Mark Blount.

I would trade Marcus Banks for Jameer Nelson, by the way.

Yuck. You give up two solid players AND a 1st for one? Seeing as how Allen and Banks are defensive beasts in the game, I don't see why you'd wanna do that (if not for the sole reason of having a Nelson/West backcourt).

My association is going fairly well. It's on 7min quarters, I'm 14-3.
Depth:
PG - Payton/Banks
SG - Allen/Davis
SF - Pierce/Davis
PF - Jefferson/Scalabrine
C - Dalembert/Blount
Pierce: 30.8ppg, 6.0rpg, 4.4apg
Davis: 15.2ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.5apg
Payton: 10.6ppg, 1.6rpg, 4.4apg
Banks: 5.8ppg, 2.2apg, 2.1spg
Jefferson: 5.5ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.0bpg
Allen: 5.4ppg, 1.9apg, .90spg
Dalembert: 4.8ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.3bpg
Scalabrine: 2.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 1.0apg
Blount: 1.3ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.3apg
If you think Pierce's #'s are too high, it should be noted that I've jacked up over 400 shots with him in 17 games for an Iverson-level FGAT's/game.

Thing is with Allen's legal problems I was going to leave him on IR until his contract runs out then waive him. And I just don't like Banks, so it's pretty much Banks and a 1st for Nelson.
And the West-Nelson backcourt was a big part of the reason too.

Celtics Overcome Turnovers Problems, Top the Knicks 99-92
Boston- It's that time again for NBA Basketball. And what a better stage to open up the season on than a Celtics-Knicks matchup at the Garden. Well, really there could be better but that's what we got tonight. With some new faces on the two teams the fans were interested in what they would get tonight. Rather then seeing dominance by the new guys, what they got is a old-time matchup that boiled down to the success of Paul Pierce and Stephon Marbury. Pierce lead the Celtics with 35 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 steals on 13-20 shooting, including 4-7 from beyond the arc, as well as 5-5 from the FT line. On the other side, Stephon Marbury lead the way for the Knicks scoring 24 points, while dishing out 10 assists, and recording 5 steals.
The Knicks had some problems with their shot selection as the combination of Marbury-Crawford-Richardson had an off-night, shooting a combined 35%, including 4-18 from 3. Crawford scored 22, and Richardson scored 21, but no one outside of those 3 really contributed all that much in the offense. As for the Celtics, Ricky D came up strong off the bench scoring 16 points, on 5-12 shooting, while Nelson chipped in 15 of his own with 7 assists. Big Al tallied a double double off the bench scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 boards. Disappointing for the Celtics was Raef and Mark who combined for a 2-17 night.

Lant - how long are the Q's you're playing? And did you sim or play it? As for Marbury, Craw, and Q, those are some ugggglly shooting numbers. And Raef going for 15 boards!!
Pierce is such a stud. I just finished a game where he went for 44 points, 12 assists, and 6 reb's. He was cutting through the Sacto defense like it was nothing (hmm, probably cos it wasn't). Whether it was stepback J's, taking it to the rack...he was unstoppable.
