More importantly, it's vengeance time coming up against the Jets. I want to see some good old fashioned running up of the score here. I'd like to see them hit Eric Manweenie with nine touchdowns. I want a biblical massacre of a game.

I'll be shocked if the pick isn't traded.

i think they will trade it too, but look at how all those teams that passed on adrain peterson look now...normally i would say trade the pick but mcfadden is a specemen and may be too good to pass up...plus what would you trade it for? another future first...doesnt get much better than a top 3 overall

They'l definitely trade down.
McFadden isn't the Belichick pick. He'll probably address runningback at some point in the draft but not that high, and not for that amount of money. I can see them trading down to grab two ones, and then moving the other first rounder down.
While the Patriots are playing at a high level there are some areas they will need to address (i.e. linebacker) because players are getting old.

McFadden is a running back and he's going to be looking for top pick money. There is no way Belichick keeps this pick.

Belichick goes with McFadden or trades down to pick up a couple of linebackers. James Laurenitis (sp) perhaps?

I'd be shocked if they use a first on a linebacker. He normally prefers to fill out the LB corps with vets because they pick up the defensive playbook quickly and don't need their hands held. Other than that the only real areas of need on the team are the defensive secondary and the offensive line.

I know it's easy to assume a team will trade down, but with the money involved and value of the picks, it's getting harder and harder to move down. No one wants to pay the money unless they have to and no one wants to give up a lot of picks, which #2 would warrant. It's been like 2-3 yrs since a big move was made at the top.
If Laurinaitis is in the draft, he would be perfect fit for the Pats. Smart and instinctive.

Yeah, there is no way he drafts a linebacker after Katzenmoyer.

no matter what it costs if we have a chance on mcfadden and dont take it we will regret it...im still convinced that one of the main reasons we dont use the run is because maroney is more injured than the pats are making him out to be...why not take him to be a two headed monster with maroney? and its possible that mcfadden would accept slightly less money if hes lucky enough to go to the pats...players like that get doomed to places like oakland or miami...to go to a super bowl calibur team right out of college would be a blessing for mcfadden, im not saying he will accept less money, but he might
