New England Shows Smith Where he can Stick his Guarantee
|
|
13-0, baby. Anthony Smith and the Steelers secondary sure showed Brady, holding him to 399 yards. Next up, the Jests and 14-0.

I suppose there are some who can believe whatever they want.
Are you among the misguided that assume that Rodney Harrison is the only player in NFL history to use HGH?

I think the only thing more overblown than Smith's comments is how much it really motivated the Patriots.
On other boards I saw people say: "Here's the wakeup call the Pats needed!"
Let's be real. The Patriots played the Bills, a division rival, so there was no way they would take them lightly. Then they played the Eagles and Ravens in back to back weeks. These are two teams who are much worse than their records states. After playing at an optimum level all season the Pats had their hiccup games back to back, and pulled out gutty wins. Those were there letdown games. There was no doubt that they were going to be up for the Steelers' game regardless, because they were the #1 defense in the league and a division leader, not to mention the history between the squads.
I knew this was going to be a blowout well beforehand. The truth of the matter is the Steelers aren't on the same level as New England, Indianapolis or even Jacksonville. They are a good team, a tough team, but not a top team. They have problems in the secondary.
I do have to say every time I see Willie Parker play I come away believing he's better than I thought.

The Patriots have had an unfortunate tendency to make the opposing RBs look like that.

They're a pretty efficient team. They certainly had a letdown game against Philly, but I really don't think Baltimore qualified as a letdown. For the first 58 minutes the Ravens played really well. You have to give credit where it's due. Baltimore played the New England game looking like the 13-3 team of last year. But they've followed that up with a disgraceful performance tonight, rolling over and dying for Indy.

Yeah, definitely. Ravens also have had to deal with inept coaching and key injuries. I actually thought they were going to get killed last week, the way they are tonight against the Colts. I was hoping for it anyway (Season's has been over for awhile). Praying for the end of Billick era and a high pick.
I love watching the Pats play. It's just so much fun to watch them at such a high level. Tom Brady is amazing. I also thought they'd blow out the Steelers. They seemingly have had issue for yrs with the secondary even when Polamalu plays. If they don't get pressure, they're screwed.

You do realise that it's legal to tape from the stands that every team does it, right?
