You guys may get 6 in, but I'd probably say only 5 right now.

The Big 10 is pretty sad outside of Wisconsin and OSU. SEC and ACC can make a better case, but I still feel like the pac 10 is equal or better.
IMO the locks from the pac 10 would be: UCLA, Arizona, Oregon, Washington St, USC. And the bubble teams would be Washington, Stanford, and Cal. Washington is freefalling right now, not sure why you put them as a lock, but Stanford may have a shot to make the dance.

It's amazing how people just forget about Indiana. I mentioned this awhile ago, but this is an 11-4 team with four very good losses:
5 point loss to Butler on a neutral court
3 point loss at Duke
5 point loss at Kentucky
7 point loss at Ohio St.
Not to mention, they've beaten good Michigan St. and Purdue teams by a combined 49 points in their last two games. This team is going to do some damage in March.

Re: Conference by Conference Breakdown
I dont think Big East will get 8 in, so I'd probably take one off there and add it to either the ACC or the Big 10.

Maybe not. I just don't know who to take out. Lunardi's got Syracuse as a 7 seed, so it seems pretty harsh not to put them in, especially since they've won at Marquette and dominated Villanova recently. He's got UConn out, but I'm not prepared to do that yet unless they lose to Indiana on Saturday.

Re: Conference by Conference Breakdown
I think your being a little too generous in your lock assessment. When you designate a team a lock your pretty much saying to a 95% degree that this team is getting in the tournament (it
s judgment call).. you don't expect locks to move in and off the bubble from week to week.. you expect very little movement out of the lock (hence the term "lock").
To me, Maryland and Alabama cannot be classified as locks right now... based on what they have done to date, there is more then a 5% chance that they will miss the tourney.
I guess I'm just interested in how you classify a lock.

Re: Conference by Conference Breakdown
Yeah, you're prolly right. Alabama probably could be moved off the lock status, although I do think they'll make the tourney. I really like Maryland though, and with their tough overall schedule, I don't see them missing the tourney with 22-23 wins, even at .500 in conference play.
