Re: Who deserves a higher seed?
The best team in the NCAA usually does not win the NCAA tournament, due to its one and out nature. But that is the beauty of the tournament, and it is still an extrememly fair means of determining a champion as it is the same conditions for every team.
Basing which team is better on a sample of 1 or 2 games is flawed although those games are of utmost more importance.
Team A may well not have been better then Team B - but at selection Sunday they deserved a higher seed.
Team A was Syracuse 2006
Team B was Georgetown 2006
Team A did in fact get the higher seed, and got a 5 seed.
Team B got a seven seed.
I hardly think Syracuse getting a higher seed was asinine, even if one can make a solid argument that Georgetown was a better team post tournament results.
So G'town you wanted me to find people who thought Syracuse was better or at least deserving of a better seed - 87.5% (7 out of 8)
