Ah. I should've known better. But you know how guilty we can all be of homerism now and then.

Just as an aside, I really like Pitt as a dark horse. They play exceptional D. They have good guard play with Fields and Ramon. A good all-around leader in Sam Young. And a very good freshman big man in Blair. They beat Duke on a neutral floor and lost a lot of games with Fields out.

Syracuse is better than UMass, whether you want to believe it or not. The Orange have a much more potent offense. And I'm pretty sure they wouldn't lose by double digits at home to Xavier, nor would they have double digit losses to St. Louis or Temple.
so if/when umass beats the cuse again in the carrier dome, will we finally admit which team is better?

no excuses for syracuse this time, umass won't have "snuck up" on the big east team this time.

btw, if umass and xavier win their next games, the a10 will be 11-10 vs the big east this year.

also, its amazing what games in the ooc prove when it comes to tourney time. san diego? i don't think that win vs kentucky was such a fluke. also, wasn't belmont from the same league as gardner webb? 1 look at the sec ooc record, and you can see why they only have 1 team left. time to stop dismissing results in november and december.

What does Gardner Webb have to do with anything? Its clear you think Mid Majors are gods gift to NCAAA B'Ball. You seemed intelligent until you shared that one. Gardner Webb and Belmot can compete in the SEC? Is that what your saying? The SEC is probably more down than ever and almost every team would dominate that conference you speak of.

If UMASS beats Syracuse it will have less to do with who is the better Basketball team and more to do with how Stubborn Jim Boeheim is. If you guys get hot from 3 and our coach decides that man defense is out of the question then you guys could keep it close. I think Umass is a good team and if things shook differently you'd have been playing in the big tournament. You had a good resume until St. Joes, Xavier, and Temple ganged up on ya.

However, I could coach SU to beat UMASS, do you think they are as good as SU? Seriously? I love you little mid major fans. How many at large mid majors won games in the tournament this year? One Exactly One did and that was Xavier. BTW UMASS and Akron looked like a community college game the other day and you have the balls to come on and talk about superiority.

With man defense we'd blow you out of the gym. I predict we blow you guys out and I'm sorry you came on here to ask about it. Did you watch the first meeting? If you thought UMASS was a better team then I'd be surprised. We had no Idea what we were doing on defense, things have changed.
Do you know we recruited over Tiki Mayben? Let him go to you guys and you all came in your pants? The talent disparity is immense.

BTW the early season OOC matchups are so heavily weighted to help the mid Majors. You are usually more experienced and a better team oriented squad (easier to coach) etc.. While you may have improved 5x over a season teams like SU with that talent probably improve 10x. The committee puts so much weight on how a team played 4 months ago it is insane. Would you rather us big conferences played you at the end of the season for OOC? I didn't thinks so because most mid majors would be exposed.

Good Luck Tuesday, I'm not saying SU can't lose but who is really a better basketball team? I predict you guys get absolutely smoked and then we get embarrassed in NYC.

Did you happen to catch the SU v Maryland game? Well compare that to your Akron game and what we have is Varsity vs JV. At the Akron game you must have been one of the 5 people in the stands. Where you sleeping? I wouldn't be surprised to lose a close game and I wouldn't be surprised to blow you out by 20. But UMASS better? Have some more Kool-Aid brother.

yawn. talent disparity. akron, maryland. yawn. tiki mayben? you mean the wonder of hudson valley community college? we overrecruited him too.

i would think that someone who actually bleeds orange juice could come up with better smack than that.

five words for you "carrier dome opponent scoring record"

i'm sure things have changed for you guys, we've gotten a little better ourselves. you can't keep up with our guardS. yeah jonny flynn is a complete stud, but he can't guard 3 guys.

tiki may get a chance to play SU next year if Binghamton is on the SU's typical cake non conference schedule.

Re: In or Out: SYRACUSE (2-6-08)

as a sidenote, this game features one of the best point guard matchups this entire season. there won't be anything else on on tuesday, should be a great college basketball game.

Re: In or Out: SYRACUSE (2-6-08)

Did one of your guards have to stop Paul Harris last game? Paul will stop two guards by himself while eating breakfast. He could bench press your mother while your mother is bench pressing your father.

We are a different defensive team with Harris on the perimeter and a different rebounding team with Kristoff on the baseline. So for those reasons I think you'll be surprised. I am not saying we can't get beat but my money would have to go against UMASS as well as my heart. I think we'll have 20,000 people there so that could help our cause.

Oh and BTW you guys were stoked to get Tiki Mayben don't say you weren't. Did you disagree with anything I said? or were you just tired (Yawn).

tiki wasn't around long enough to get stoked about. chris lowe beat him out, he transfered. he couldn't shoot or play defense.

i'll agree that syracuse is more talented but it's obvious who the deeper/better conditioned team was.
