Re: In or Out: ST. JOSEPH'S (2-12-08)
I'll start us off.
This is a tough one to call, but I have them just out right now. They've blown so many chances, and while UMass does have a top 25 RPI as of now, I'm not sure how long that will last, or how good those wins will look to the committee. They were dominating Syracuse early on, and lost by three. They were up on Xavier late in the game on Sunday, and lost by four. They've had two OT losses. You can't feel sorry for them if they don't get in.
They still have a meeting with Xavier at home in early March. That's a game they need to win.
What do you guys think?

Re: In or Out: ST. JOSEPH'S (2-12-08)
Just a suggestion ... perhaps we should (Or you should) do an IN or OUT with four teams, and people could rank who is the best... it might give more perspective to the discussion, because we all know these teams are right on the bubble.
I have them just in. IMO, the bubble is a fairly weak lot this year as there a few conferences with a few dominant teams and horrid teams. There is less around .500 conference teams then normal right now.
Most of the teams that did well OOC continue to do well, and some teams that sucked out of conference are around .500 in the power conference but the damage has already been done (i.e. Georgia Tech)

That's a good idea. I'll do that next week.

I say in.
I project them to go 11-5 in conference, granting them the 2nd place tab in the A-10.
No way does the 2nd place finisher in the A-10 get left out this year.

In... I have to agree with apelman. No way does second place in the A-10 get left out. Too bad they still have to play Xavier though...

Re: In or Out: ST. JOSEPH'S (2-12-08)
I see the A-10 putting 3 into the Tourny. Rhode Island already has it's 20 win season, Xavier has it's 20 wins plus a top 25 ranking and St. Joe's will be a handful in the A-10 tournament. However if St. Joe's, Rhode Island and Xavier all fail to win the A-10 Tourny then St. Joe's misses.
