I don't think that both WCC teams would take a 7 seed. If St. Mary's ends up with the auto bid I see them in that 6-10 range no problem but if Gonzaga takes an invite and not an auto bid (meaning they fail to beat St. Mary's in the WCC Tourny) I would see them no higher than 10 and probably 12 or 13.

Gonzaga's got way too good of a resume to get a 10 seed or worse if they make the WCC finals. They should win out, which would make them 24-6, 13-1 with an RPI in the low 30s. None of their losses are outside the RPI top 50, and they've got a nice win @ UConn.

Ok let's say they drop the next two match ups with St. Mary's - regular season and WCC Tourny. Where do you see them in that situation? If they win out I completely agree with a 7 seed, however having seen St. Mary's this year I'm not sure the Zags would take 2 against them. If the WCC Tourny was up in Spokane this year I could see it but being down in San Diego I'm not so sure.

If they win out the regular season, and lose in the WCC finals, there's still no way they get a 10 seed or worse.

I dug into the Gonzaga history that I keep and found 2003 as the last year they didn't win the WCC Tourny to get the auto bid. That year they won the regular season title but failed to even reach the tournament championship game. At the end of the day they picked up a #9 seed in the NCAA tourny.
