Re: My Bracket as of Feb 24

Good bracket. A couple minor things I'd do differently, but nothing major.

I do disagree with Arizona St. getting in, though. Right now, they've got an RPI in the high 60s, and they're only .500 in conference.

I also think that Ohio St. gets in. They've got the wins over bubble teams in Syracuse and Florida, and I think they'll pick up a win over Purdue and/or Michigan St. down the stretch.

Please give me this rematch. I don't like Florida and Davidson spoiling the party though. Not sure if regular season opponents can meet in the second round, might be wrong.

I think you are. I believe they changed it a couple of years ago when the Big East expanded so that teams in the same conference could meet as early as the 2nd round. It gives the committee more flexibility.

.500 in what is probably perceived to be the best conferenece and quality wins. It also helps that despite the low RPI, that there worst loss is Washington at home, and still have had plenty of top games to prove that they are a good team. 4-5 vs top 50. As long as they are .500 in conference they should be fine.

Well as always, I do a point in tiem projection, while you make a few more predictions. But there 1-9 record against top 50 teams is hideous. And while those losses are all understandable to a degree, they have had there chances and not proved it They REALLY need one or two victories of substance.

When the committee sits down and says who have they beat, and only see the following as top 100 wins:
Syracuse
Florida
Cleveland St
UMBC

A win over Purdue or Michigan St would help alot, but only one win would just keep them in the bubble conversation.

Well it all depends on what the committee focuses on when they look at them. Do they focus on no bad losses, or say easy in conference schedule, and the 2-5 top 50 record means there not that good. They do have one huge road win vs UConn, and its hard to punish losses vs Tennessee and Memphis. But winning at home against Washington St would have helped there status.

I might re-consider there case next week after closer scrutiny of there schedule, because its probably better then it looks at a high level. Perhaps they are even as high as a six / seven/

That used to be a rule. Not sure if it is anymore. I think it still is, so you will have to wait until a later tound.

Re: My Bracket as of Feb 24

I notice you have UK on the outside looking in. If they beat Ole miss tonight that puts them at 16-10, 10-3. If they can win 3 out of the next 4 SEC games they will finish 12-4 in conference. No way they get left out.

An Oral Roberts/Washington St. match up would be intriguing. I think OR will make some waves in the tourney.
