Hmmm now isn't that reminiscent of the same guy YOU claim is not an elite coach. A guy who happens to have won a national title, more NCAA wins and more career wins.
There are at least 6 to 8 coaches I would consider ahead of Pearl if I was running an elite program. I dont even think he is a better coach than Billie Gillespie or Donovan for that matter

If Roy did it at UW Milwaukee and an ailing Tennessee program instead of Kansas and UNC, then I'd give him the same credit.
There's also probably a little homerism, because Pearl is beloved up here.

Pearl is top 10 coach, but not top 2.......a couple more sweet 16 appearences tho and he may earn that respect to be mentioned there tho....top 5 requires national titels....Im talkin' bout guys like Tom Izzo, Roy Williams, Billy D, Coach K, and the like...
Check your facts, Doherty had run UNC to the ground before Roy showed up.
ran them into the ground with felton, mccants, and may on the team? doherty did a ****ty job as a coach, but the team was still loaded with talent when roy williams became coach.

So? Those guys were acting like primadonnas. The team was doing poorly. There was no order on the team. Even fans had lost interest in the team. My roommate went to UNC, and said you couldn't even beg fans to go to the games. Roy completely changed all that.
