Re: Davidson as a 7 Seed is Insane
I'm not gonna justify anything, JN, but you and I both know playing an OOC team tight in the first 3 months and playing them as a rival who they play every year are two totally different things.
I'm not saying they're great and I'm not even saying they'll win a tournament game, but they deserve a bit more credit.

Washington a seven seed?

Right now I'm talking about Davidson's talent, not about where they deserved to be seeded.
Put Washington in that conference, and they don't go 23-0. They would win that conference tournament most likely, but certainly not by a combined 79 points.
How many of the 8-9 seeded type teams would be able to lose to Duke, UNC, and UCLA by a combined 22 points?

Miami woundn't be able to lose all three games by less then that, because they actually won one of those games.
Others I'm not sure about. But I'm thinking all of them would be able to beat one of Charlotte, NC St or Western Michigan.

But wouldn't that then help my argument?
UNC and Duke are not really up for Davidson, but would be more "up" for the ACC rivals... Davidson would certainly be more into the game then normal.

Re: Davidson as a 7 Seed is Insane
Davidson reminds me of the College of Charleston from 1999. Yeah that team went 28-3 and went undefeated in the SoCon as well and what did the committee do, the same thing they did to Murray State in 1998, the team that undefeated in the OVC. Stuck em in the 8-9 game and watched Tulsa and Rhode Island bust those two teams up respectively.
Trust Davidson is not going to get out of the first round. You shut down Stephen Curry and you beat this team. Pretty simple. I mean losing to Charlotte and Western Michigan should tell you all you need to know about Davidson. They are a good team, that got lucky by playing in such a horrendous league.

No. Playing a team - a UCLA, Duke, UNC - close, a team that you play 1-2 times a year, a team that the players all have played before - there's an advantage there.

I don't agree with that statement. If we're talking like Barton College, then yes, but playing a nationally known, top "mid-major" in a NBA arena, no. And that's exactly what UNC, Duke, and UCLA all faced when they played Davidson.

Again, I don't disagree with what you said about them getting out of the first round, however these statments are incorrect. Basing your opinion of Davidson on the box scores/final outcomes of those two games will give you a faulty opinion. Curry is obviously the man on that team, but there's more to that team than Curry. It's not like you can leave everyone else open and solely focus on him.

Yeah, I tend to agree with this. An 8/9 team might not have the stopper to hold Curry, but a 1 seed certainly will. Russell Westbrook would probably hold Mr. Curry to 10 points. Same for Mario Chalmers.

Re: Davidson as a 7 Seed is Insane
Anyone who thinks that playing UNC in bobcats arena is a home game has no ****ing clue what they're talking about. If you think that watch the tournament this weekend. It's a complete lock that the refs are going to rape you the same way they raped Davidson in that game.Davidson clearly outplayed Carolina and the refs took it away from them.I'd a hundred times rather play UNC in the Deandome than in Charlotte. It's a guaranteed rectal exam any time you play them there.

Hate to tell you this but Curry put up 30 against Maryland last year with D.J. Strawberry guarding him most of the game. And Strawberry was a hell of a defensive player.
Don't hate on Stephon Curry. You can hate on the rest of Davidson, but don't hate on Stephon Curry.
