Davidson as a 7 Seed is Insane
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology
How the hell are they a seed.
Yes they went 23-0 in there relatively crappy conference.
Who cares. Let's look at there OOC where they went 2-6.
Wins:
North Carolina Central (Home)
Winthrop (Away)
Losses:
Western Michigan (Away)
Charlotte (Away)
NC St (Away)
Duke (Home)
UNC (Home)
UCLA (Away)
There is not one quality win there. And It's hard to beleive that any competent bubble team would at win at least 3 games against that schedule.
At some point you have to win. When your entire seed is based on staylng close and losing AT HOME to good teams, and getting credit for having and BLOWING a huge lead against UCLA, then there is something wrong.

Re: Davidson as a 7 Seed is Insane
I think a 7 seed is a little high, but I wouldn't call it insane. I'd definitely have teams like Kansas St., West Virginia, and Pittsburgh ahead of Davidson.

Re: Davidson as a 7 Seed is Insane
Well, let's just say I am glad that Davidson got an automatic, because I would have freaked when they got there undeserved at large bid.
There entire resume is based on losing a couple close games at home.... AWESOME!!!

Re: Davidson as a 7 Seed is Insane
Well, they did go 23-0 in their conference, so you have to give them some credit. Sure, the Southern Conference isn't very good, but they pretty much just crushed everybody.

23-0 is not something to scoff at. I am particularly glad that the criminally underrated Curry will get some shine this tourney

I agree, I'd put them at 10.

Re: Davidson as a 7 Seed is Insane
They are going to lose in the first round again. They always seem to do this every few years, but this team hasn't won a game over a real tourney team other than Winthrop. Big deal.

Neither is a signature out of conference win against North Carolina Central**
** A school, I had never heard of before looking at who Davidson had beat.

I disagree. I understand the argument that you have to win some of these games, but even playing and staying with UNC, Duke, and UCLA should mean something come tournament time. And I'm not speaking on seeding or at-large hopes, but just being confident against some of the lesser BCS teams. I'd say an 8-10 is probably right for them. And I wouldn't be shocked if they can make the Sweet 16 if they do indeed get a 10.
