Talk about a West Coast Bias ???

Ok so what conferences are the best this year?
Here is the break down of the top 50 for their respective ratings indexes.

Real Time RPI Thursday's games included

BE - 9
SEC - 6
B12 - 6
P10 - 5
B10 - 5
ACC - 4
A10 - 3
MVC - 3
Cusa- 1

Pomeroy Ratings Wednesday's games included

BE - 9
B12 - 9
P10 - 7
B10 - 6
SEC - 5
ACC - 5
A10 - 1
MVC - 1
Cusa- 1

An eye opener to say the least...

How can they keep pimping the PAC 10? Are you serious? We'll see next week how overrated that conference is. Absolutely ridiculous. If they don't take at least 8 Big East teams there should be an investigation. Remember that is just 50% of the conference, every other conference gets 50% of their teams in every year or two. Its time the Big East gets some damn respect.

Unhappy Big East has been discriminated against, heres proof...

For people that don't think the Big East is discriminated against, heres proof...

Based on this article it appears we truly do.

Since 2000, the Big East has the third best average conference rating, but far and away the worst "bid yield" (percentage of teams selected).

Code:
ACC Big 12 Big East Big Ten Pac-10 SEC
Bid Yield 47.00% 43.80%	40.70% 48.90% 46.30%	47.90%
Avg. Conf. RPI 2.6 4.1 3.5 4 5.8	2.1
Further down the article, it shows that the Big East has the highest percentage of teams making the sweet sixteen. This shows me that not only do BE teams perform in the dance, but that the selection committee rarely takes BE bubble teams that would be expected to get 10th through 12th seeds and not make the sweet sixteen.

I wasn't a believer that the BE was getting "capped" before, but I certainly am now.

I'd like the truth to get out. I'd also like some of you fans to weigh in on this.

What the heck can you say to excuse this crap? It is flat out proof we get to the Sweet Sixteen more often with less chances. It also shows we deserve more opportunities than we are given. Its was BS last year and it is BS this year. All the other conferences are often awarded with more than half the teams getting in, why not the Big East?

Anyone care to dispute this?

Statements like that crack me up. I'm assuming that you're referring to how many games the teams in a specific conference win in the first two rounds. Or are you talking about how many bids each league gets? If you're referring to how many games they win - IMO, NCAA Tournament games have 90% to do with 1) how well you're team matches up with the other team and 2) how much heart your team has. It has very little to do with how "good" your team is or supposedly is... If you're talking about how many teams a league gets in. Please, I don't even want to hear a Big East fan's opinion on this matter. I'll say what I say every time the Big East is brought up - 7-8 of your 50 teams are bound to get in. So don't even think about bragging to me about how many teams that league gets.

Re: Looking at prvious conferences bid yields Big East

All this means is that Villanova should get in, but not Syracuse.

I'm merging this with your other 10 threads that say the EXACT SAME THING only in different words. Some of you Big East fans are simply anazing with your homerism.

Re: Talk about a West Coast Bias ???

TM, a10 fans have known about this homerism for awhile now. the conference "dominated" the a10 this year 11-8. yet we're the "vastly inferior league."

the big east is the perfect representation of an average american. too big, bloated in the middle and thinks their **** don't stink.

I honestly don't see many Big East homers around here. I know a few ACC Fans (not you) who are tremendously biased and therefore become incompetent when discussing things on a national scope

First of all, it's 8 Pac 10 teams in Pomeroy's top 50. Secondly, Cal comes in at 56. 80% of the Pac 10 is in the top 50 and 9 in the top 56. Thanks for putting this all in perspective! The Pac 10 is indeed the toughest conference this year.

Poor Syracuse! Maybe try leaving Upstate New York before January.

Can you even read what I posted or are you too lazy? Are you afraid to comment on facts? Typical that you acted like you didn't know what I was saying so then you could just ignore the facts and take pot shots.

Here are the facts so you can comprehend:

1. The Big East is on average the 3rd best league since 2000.
2 The Big East gets the 6th most bids by percentage. Care to explain Why?
3. So the 3rd best league gets 40% of their teams in while the 6th best league the perennially overrated Pac10 gets 46.30%.
4. Just look at the numbers you are lucky their is a bias against the Big East.
5. The Big East also makes the Sweet Sixteen more than anyone else even after they are repeatedly snubbed.
6. The Big East got 8 bids before they expanded now the powers that be are doing everything to stop it.
7. Care to discuss the facts?

Code:
ACC Big 12 Big East Big Ten Pac-10 SEC
Bid Yield 47.00% 43.80%	40.70% 48.90% 46.30%	47.90%
Avg. Conf. RPI 2.6 4.1 3.5 4 5.8	2.1
I know this means Villanova should be in. Is there any homerism in this post?
I stated the facts and you ran and called me a homer? I just wanted to show you what the facts are. The Pac10 is perennially overrated as to how many bids they get. Look at what Arizona does every year and their resume. How about Stanford last year?

I want to know where I am being a homer? Oregon, ASU, and Zona were considered in before this weekend and they lost just like they will next week. The ACC's 5th best team hasn't beaten a top 50 team this year. How many bids will they get??

Thanks for your time.
