Re: Finalized Bracketology
If UNC loses (somehow ), they're still #1 overall, right? I mean, no way you put UCLA in there, is there?

Re: Finalized Bracketology
I agree with JN...UCLA is #1 overall pending a UNC loss. Not that the #1 overall seed really matters much.
There's always a team that sneaks into the bracket that nobody projects. I'm going out on a limb and guessing that Ole Miss will be that team this year.

Re: Finalized Bracketology
Your bracket has Notre Dame as the #5 seed and UConn as the #4 seed in the same region. I would look over that again.

Re: Finalized Bracketology
A few comments on your bracket.
Arizona as a 9: I have them as a 12.... it could really go anywhere... seeing teams from 9-12 there was not much to go on.
Notre Dame and UConn as a round of 32 matchup..... they would never have a 4-5 matchup in round 2 between conference. The no conference matchups rule was made more for if a conference ever gets 9 teams in, or if things get really complicated. They would certainly adjust that. But I assume your just focused on hitting the seeds, which at this time is understandble.
Your sticking with Ole Miss... I was thinking Dayton if your going to go with quality wins. We shall see. 7-10 in the SEC is just as bad as 9-9 in the A-10.
Same story with Wisconsin-Purdue, as UConn / Notre Dame.
Seeds look oretty good though overall, although there is not much to dispute amongst the top 12 teams.... I would be stunned if those were not the top 12.

I was thinking the same thing as you but I was going to take Dayton instead of Ole Miss... based on the same reasoning you took Ole MIss... quality wins.... but in the end I'm going to stick with VCU.

They changed that rule a few years ago 'Big East Rule' so now teams from the same conference can meet as early as the 2nd round.

Re: Finalized Bracketology
They changed the rule if a conference has more than 8 teams in the tournament. However, since the Big East will not have more than 8 teams in, to the contrary it might be seven, they are not going to put UConn and Notre Dame as the 4-5 in the same region.
Just switch Indiana and Notre Dame.

I think Arizona will get enough credit from the committee to get a 9 or a 10 seed. They love teams that play tough non-conference schedules (they had the 4th toughest and 5th best non-conference RPI). 5 top 50 wins including the sweep over Washington St. should look pretty good to them.
