LOL butler loses in the horizon league final last year and finishes with a worse record and ends up with a 5th seed last year.
this year butler finishes 29-3 finishes in the top 10 in the AP, actually won the horizon auto bid and they finished 7th?? granted butler beat tennessee on a neutral court last year (MSG) with basically the same team, and since tenn can't play defense, maybe its a moot point??
how does wazzu end up 11-7 in the pac 10 yet comes down with a #4??
speaking of the pac-10, oregon as a 9?? this team finished 8-10, albeit, in a pretty good conference. they lost in the quarterfinals, and they lost to friggen oakland. who the hell is oakland?? where are they located?? they actually play basketball there, and they beat oregon?? no #9 seeds lose a game to oakland, so what actually got them this 9 seed?? the win over stanford in the middle of january?? the pac-10/big 12 challenge win @ k-state (when oregon was actually a decent team??), or the sweep of arizona (in their win in mckale in january bayless was out so who knows what would've happened had he been in the lineup)??
Butler got hosed as you said.
Washington St as a 4, I saw coming... the third best team from the top confernece (or top two) will usually get that.
Oregon went 0-9 I think...but you are correct they are not anywhere near a 9 seed.
shupioneers, I think you have legit complaints about everything you say. Hope you stick around and post a lot during the Tournament because you seem to know what you're talking about.

BTW, my choice of Georgia over Xavier was purely in response to Ktabz post.... Xavier is much better then any team that Georgia saw this weekend.
I think the most dangerous 14 seed is Boise St... they actually have 5 top 100 wins this year which is alot for a 14 seed. Know nothing about the team howeve.
They're an okay team, but New Mexico St. had no business losing to them as they were better and swept them in the regular season. They're got some good post up players but Louisville is a bad matchup for them.

1) You failed to mention that they beat Gonzaga last year, too.
2) Oregon was actually 9-9 in the Pac-10...
yeah. looking at it more, it's not as easy as it seemed when i first heard it but it sure isn't very difficult. they have the weakest 3 seed on their side of the bracket and they don't have to play any teams with a lot of size that would be a problem for them.
I think WVU matches up pretty well with them and Arizona has decent size too. Xavier is very good and Purdue is a typical team from Indiana. Duke will be lucky to make it out of the 2nd round.
