Right now the Bracket Project has them in on 35 of 62 brackets. Note that this is a compilation of brackets and that there are a few there are between 3-6 days old.
They would be the third last team in just ahead of St. Mary's and Florida. Although, really the matrix is trending on the newest daily entries such that Florida will be out shortly, and replaced by one of the last four out.
Let's also remember the third last team out right now, is "potentially" really out of the tournament because of bubble busters. Usually there is about 3 a year. So you can also view Maryland as potentially the last team out based on the matrix as well.
I think another way to look at this is to consider in the discussion is to discuss Maryland against some of the last eight out:
Providence
Michigan
Kentucky
Rhode Island (really trending upwards in the last few daily entries)
Virginia Tech
Miami (FL)
New Mexico
San Diego St
Or are they better then some of the teams immediately ahead of them on the bracket:
Penn St
Arizona
Texas AM
South Carolina
Out. Easily. They had a chance to win two home games against Duke and Wake and choked. Nope.

I'd say they've done well to be as close as they are...that team could have easily collapsed.Their talent isn't as good as their resume. What really hurts them is how bad they've been in a large number of games. In cameron they looked like the JV team from a 3A high school.Given how stacked the ACC is this year it's wonder they aren't scratching and clawing for an NIT bid. They have a winnable game left and another win next thursday will get them in.
they're out now.I guess a lot of other bubble teams could screw it up,but right now they'd probably have to get to the acc finals and that's extremely unlikely
I really hated there resume even before today, but I susepct that if they had won today they would have got in.
These "stacked" references to the ACC are a little absurd. Yes they may be the best conference, but they are neither the best at the top nor the deepest confernce in America... the Big East is better at the top no matter what ratface says (1-6) compared to (1-5)... the Big Ten is the deepest conference in America, they just don't have the power at the top.
Here's what I found stupid about the praise that Maryland got. People state they beat UNC at home. Well so ****ing what! That's right, so ****ing what.
Maryland had five games against top 6 seed teams at home, and won one. What damn bubble team wouldn't win one home game out of five against five random top 25 opponents?
At the end of the day, they still beat two #1 seeds. That might be enough to satisfy the committee, even if they lose in the first round of the ACC.
If the committee plays the count the seed from the ACC game, they might not want to stop at six.
Miami, Maryland and Virginia Tech should be out. They should have to win the ACC tournament.

Duquesne trying to make that a little bit harder to accomplish tho..
