Re: Lead pipe lock: First Round Upset

Then on paper Arizona is the number 1 team in the nation, three pro players two lottery picks, but yet they are barley in the tournament. You see stats are useful sometimes when you have to read between the lines. Same goes for Wake Forest amazing talent but could fall short in the first round to a tuff Cleavland State team.

I like this at first but then I dug deeper.

Utah starts 4 seniors and 1 junior. Extremely experienced.

Arizona is sporatic, and normally there aren't many streaky teams that advance in the tournament.

I'm playing the percentages and going with the more defensive, consistent Utah team.

Unless you can give me a solid reason as to why I should pick Arizona?

Because they are Arizona, their best player is in Italy and they still find a way to make the field. They are filled with M-All Americans so they are the more talent team, and every time you turn a radio on they are a punchline, or a sign that America likes to screw the little guy and someone is hoping Mason Nation turns its head again. I think Arizona should be focused and play the game of the year and cruise to the win. However if you disagree you disagree look at my picks in Lock contest and see that I don't have any more.

Re: Lead pipe lock: First Round Upset

Not counting 8-9 for sure
countin 7-10 I'm gonna say USC is a lock
not counting 8-9 or 7-10
I'm gonna say Wisconsin

Florida State isn't as good of a team as the Badgers and really only have one offensive player of any worth...

They got hot in the ACC tournament but I think their run is over and Wisconsin is eternally underrated

Re: Lead pipe lock: First Round Upset

Oh, relax guys. I only put the guarantee thing in there because that's how apelman had it formatted. Were you going to jump all over him if Cleveland St. lost, too?

And like I said before, I was quoting someone else who's opinion I respect more than anyone's on Uzoh's draft status. If he says he's an NBA caliber player, I believe him.

What a show Christmas put on and Harden didn't put on though, eh?

Re: Lead pipe lock: First Round Upset

We should start a second round upset thread, since my brackets are shot no holding back.

I think Mizzou beats Marquette and Maryland beats Memphis

Re: Lead pipe lock: First Round Upset

I need UCLA to beat Villanova, but considering how Villanova looked on Thursday, that doesn't seem like a huge upset.

I really think Wisconsin matches up well with Xavier and could give them a run maybe I'm biased.

And you have to think UNC is going to be tested by LSU.

Wisc. should beat Xavier because they have the big guys that will give Xavier fits.
