Is UGA eligible?
The NCAA committee said they would make their decision on Halloween, around that time. Nothing happened though

I think keeping our scholarships is just as important as being eligible for this year, because in the tough SEC..... it will be hard for the under-manned UGA team to qualify.

Didn't the school declare the team ineligible for a few years?

The school took them out of last year's NCAA tournament and SEC tournament, in hoping that the NCAA would go softer on them because of that. We'll see
but no, they only did that for that year.

unfortunately for georgia tech, they are the host team for the south regional and will not be able to play their sweet 16/elite 8 games in that region. a stupid rule imho.

No actually that is a good thing. You should not have home games in the tournament period.
Like when Pitt was in Pitt (really dumb). They wouldn't put Gonzaga in Spokane last year.
Also at least Georgia Tech has an inside track to the Orlando pod, where their fans can make it out to the games in driving distance.

my only problem is that it can discourage teams from putting in bids to host games. since duquesne was the host team the year the games were in pittsburgh, then it was fine. it almost doesn't make any sense for schools that could potentially make it into the pod system to put in a bid to host a game.

the ACC can take over and be the 'host conference' for it...it happened in Oklahoma City last year...OU was the host team but the Big 12 took over so they could play there...

GTFan513,
Don't be too hard on UGA. They may have a year or two where they are down, but Felton is one heck of a coach. He'll have Georgia back at a very competitive level before very long. I hated to see him leave WKU, but I know he'll do well at Georgia. Plus, he'll run a clean program that can still win games.
