Where are the Bobcats headed after 2005?

Well, fans of the Bobcats, I don't know what to tell you.

The team started out fresh as an expansion team and continued on to be not the worst team in the NBA, but the second worst. Is that something to be proud of?

As of now the team can depend on Emeka, Gerald Green (if the draft goes as planned),and possibly some of their mediocre G's/F's if they step up their game.

Now, I'm not trying to be harsh by saying all of this, I'm just trying to be realistic here as to where the Bobcats are headed.

How much better can they do in 2006 than in 2005? What will be their strengths and what will be their weaknesses? Will they go to the postseason?

Let me know what you think.

I believe the blazers will take Gerald Green, but the blazers disappoint me year after year... I would be thrilled to see an Okafor-Green combo for years to come.

The Bobcats have a bunch of cap and with their picks, they can pick up someone like Green to help. I actually think they'll progress pretty well..

Re: Where are the Bobcats headed after 2005?

I'm not sure what you mean by better....as in standings or better for the foundation of the future? if its standings you're talking about....i dont think it would get any better because of the fact that the Bobcats are not in the position to win now but their still collecting pieces for the team and its only their second yr coming in so i doubt it very much that they would make it to the postseason even in 2006/07 season...they are still building hte foundation in my opinion and once they think they're ready then they would make a splash in the free agency market or trade picks for ready-now players....

As for weaknesses, i think scoring on a consistent basis is still a concern because they do not have a go to scorer/clutch guy that could make crutial buckets although Okafor has been arguably one of their most consistent performers....they're pg situation is solid but by no means spectacular as i think they would have to draft a good young point guard since Hart has shown signs of promise but i dont think he can run a playoff team on a consistent basis in the future.....they're sg position although they have alot of quantity does not have a designated starter that can shoot/score consistently

Strengths: THey are as tough as bulldogs....they have this never give in atittude that has earned them some respect around the league....they're post position is solid with Okafor and Brezec and Ely.

Tahtz pretty much all i can say for now...living in Canada makes watching Bobcat's games tough...><"

Re: Where are the Bobcats headed after 2005?

We need a go-to scorer. The Bobcats are a scrappy, defensive team right now, but we NEED an offensive player who can create his own shot and score consistently. We have NO ONE that fits that mold. No one to go to for clutch baskets. Okafor, Wallace, Knight, none of them are really scorers. We need to draft a guy who can fill up the scoreboard.

All the Bobcats need to do is progress slowly and draft well.

I wouldn't expect them to be in the playoffs next season.

Be proud of? Are you forgetting this is an expansion team? This was their first year, and you don't know where there headed?

They have young talent, they will be a couple years away from the playoffs. It depends on what we do for FA this year. The draft is gonna be crucial, if we can grab two players who will contribute immediately, then we will be set.
