How long until the BobCats are contenders?
How long do you Charlotte fans think it will take before this baby franchise becomes a title contender? I'd say if they make some good FA signs and wise trades they could be a 45 win team in 4 or 5 years but for a title I think it would take atleast 10. What about you?

Nothing in the NBA takes 4 or 5 years. 10 years? Probally not. In the era of the cap, the Bobcats will peak in 3 to 4 years, my guess. Once they hit the full cap figure, they can run wild in free agentcy and finish the roster.

agreed. Bickerstaff is really doing a good job building this team with some solid college players, and charlotte has a lot of flexibility under the cap so as long as bickerstaff continues to draft well and spend wisely this team has a good future.

I say 4 to 5 years for title contenders if BB makes the right moves... and the way he's been building the team this will be a good team, unlike so many other expansion franchises

If they acquire someone like Radmanovic (they can work a sign'n trade involving Gerald Wallace), is a pretty good step, but it will take some time...

Resigning and keeping Gerald Wallace is the next move in my eyes

Re: How long until the BobCats are contenders?
It's gonna take some time that's for sure. They're off to a great start for a franchise though. But right now, I give it about 2 years max just for them to be Eastern Conference contenders. Hopefully it'll be even sooner, pending the Bobcats make the right moves. Their roster still hasn't had the chance to really fill out yet.
