Felton & May your choices?
If the 2005 entry draft were held over again would you still want Felton and May where you picked them or was there someone else who was still on the board that you would have preferred?

Re: Felton & May your choices?
Felton yes he's the best rookie PG not named Chris Paul, May was playing pretty well before he got injured but even then I'm not sure that he is what the team needed. May wasn't an awful pick but not the guy I would have taken.

Re: Felton & May your choices?
I'm still comfortable with the Raymond Felton pick, although I have to admit Channing Frye has shown that he was definitely worthy of being picked in the top 5. Wtih the Sean May pick, its really too early to tell, If he comes back next season with a healthy knee, in better condition and with less weight ( I know, I know, thats a whole lot of IFS ) then he may be worthy of that pick. Right now its just too early to tell.

Re: Felton & May your choices?
Felton, definitely.
May? I don't know. Is the injury a fluke, bad conditioning or just Charlotte's karma? If it's a fluke or Charlotte's bad karma, then YES, I take him again. If it's bad conditioning, it might indicate a lack of dedication on his part...in which case, NO, I pass him up. Let's see what happens with him next year; we'll have a better idea then.

Lack of dedication on his part? Obviously you don't follow college basketball. May completely resculpted his body from his sophmore season to his junior season. The change was incredible. Maybe the injury will keep him from being able to condition himself, that's what happened in his freshman season, but in no way will it be because he isn't a hard worker.

Re: Felton & May your choices?
It was bad luck that May was injured, I still wish that the Bobcats had taken Danny Granger though seeing as a versatile wing should have been a bigger priority than a second power forward when Okafor was already looking to have a promising NBA career.

Re: Felton & May your choices?
Felton has been way better than I expected from him in year 1. May like you all said it's not really fair to judge him yet. I mean Channing Frye is real tempting where Felton was taken but then he would have been gone where May was selected. Granger may have been a good pick there though but I don't think yours were bad selections.

No, I don't. Haven't watched a college game since the day Bill Walton fouled out against Notre Dame, and UCLA lost for the first time in eighty-nine games. That was in '74, I think. Turned me off college ball altogether.

Forgive me, iverson, but that's why I said "if." Because I don't/didn't know what his story was: bad karma, fluke or lousy conditioning. Thank you for your kind instruction.

Re: Felton & May your choices?
Raymond was the best player available and it's not that difficult to say that he has been as good as advertised.Talking about Channing Frye at five is silly, but either way he's never going to help you win games the way that Raymond can if you put good players around him.
I never wanted Sean May at 15.My choice would have been Danny Granger who would have been a perfect fit for the Cats at SG.If you had him and Gerald Wallace you would have been able to defend the top wings in the league (Next time you get a chance to see the Pacers watch the way Danny moves his feet on D).That said I haven't even seen Sean May play a game this season because of his injuries. His numbers are okay, but I have no idea how he's going to pan out without seeing him play against NBA competition. He was drafted to sell tickets though and under the circumstances it's hard to criticize a guy who has five or six hundred million clams in a team that nobody was going to see.Still I love Danny Granger and he would have filled the gaping hole at SG beautifully.
