The Bobcats will open their third season by hosting four of the season’s first six games in the Queen City, starting with the season opener on Wednesday, November 1, against Indiana at Charlotte Bobcats Arena and following with a game against LeBron James and his Cleveland team on Saturday, November 4.
The Bobcats will appear as part of the NBA’s national television schedule for the first time in team history, when TNT broadcasts Charlotte’s contest against Orlando on Thursday, December 14, at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. That game features the top two collegiate players from the 2005-06 season with Adam Morrison – Charlotte’s third overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft – and Duke’s J.J. Redick, plus the number one and two overall picks in the 2004 NBA Draft in 2005 Rookie of the Year Emeka Okafor and Dwight Howard.
More than half of the team’s home schedule will be on weekend dates, with nine games each on Friday and Saturday and three contests on Sunday evenings. All Bobcats evening home games will begin at 7:00 p.m. from Monday through Saturday, with the team’s three Sunday home games tipping off at 6:00 p.m.
“The excitement for our third season hits a new high today and we can’t wait for the season opener at home on November 1 against Indiana. Our hard-working, up-and-coming team and first-class arena will be showcased to a national television audience on December 14 game against Orlando and that illustrates that the NBA recognizes the progress we are making,” Bobcats President Fred Whitfield said. “Bobcats fans have great reasons to get closer this season with an exciting team, lower ticket prices, 21 of our home games on weekends and we are accommodating our fans’ wishes by starting our games 30 minutes earlier at 7 p.m.”
Southeast Division rival and defending NBA champion Miami visits the Queen City on Saturday, Nov. 25, for a post-Thanksgiving matchup that will be televised nationally on NBATV and again on Tuesday, April 10. Washington comes to Charlotte on December 27 and April 3 for its two games, Orlando’s other visit is March 12 and Atlanta plays in Charlotte on January 20 and March 28.
Other highlighted games include Western Conference champion Dallas’ pre-Thanksgiving visit on November 20, two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash and the NBA’s top-scoring team, Phoenix, on December 10, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers on December 29, Vince Carter and New Jersey on January 17 and March 24, the New York Knicks on January 31 and April 18 and Chicago and new acquisition Ben Wallace’s only stop in Charlotte on February 14.
In addition to four of the season’s first six games, the Bobcats have two four-game homestands this season, from December 3-10 with Detroit (December 3), San Antonio (December 6), Houston (December 8) and Phoenix (December 10) and from March 10-16 as Memphis (March 10), Orlando (March 12), Sacramento (March 14) and the L.A. Clippers (March 16) visit Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
Charlotte’s first road game of the season is the second overall contest, Friday, November 3, at Memphis. After four of the first six games are at home, the Bobcats travel for seven of the next 10 games from November 14 through December 1. A season-long six-game road trip travels west from Feb. 26 to March 7 and the Bobcats have five road trips of three games or more.

We're on TNT. The Stache brings great things.
I definitely want to go to the Charlotte-Cleveland game. Lebron vs. Morrison. The kid is going to get worked.

Wow I can't believe we are going to be on TNT! How does that happen? I don't think any team as young as us have been televised. I doubt Morrison will be guarding LeBron anyways, thats why we have Gerald Wallace.

That's wonderful, a TNT game! Yes, Morrison does add star power, doesn't he?? I'd love to see the Bobcats beat the Cavaliers. Can't stand LeBron James.
