Should the Bobcats make a run at Rashard Lewis?
That is, if he declines his option. Gerald Wallace will likely decline his option to become a free agent and the Bobcats may have the luxury of choosing between them. The Bobcats, after exercising Hermman and Hollins' team options and after Brezec and Voskuhl exercise their player options, have a payroll of $31.343 million. They can conceviably sign both Wallace and Lewis for twenty million dollars and play them at shooting guard and small forward respectively, but most likely, they will sign one of them.
Lewis fits well on the Bobcats because he's the scorer that the team lacks. Though his defense is far worse than Wallace's, he is a legitimate star player, in my opinion. I think the Bobcats, after drafting Hawes and a guard, could contend for the last spot in the playoffs.

Re: Should the Bobcats make a run at Rashard Lewis?
Wallace is a far better overall player who makes a much bigger impact.Lewis is a very good offensive player and we need scoring, but he pretty much sucks at every other aspect of the game. He's a very poor rebounder, not a good ballhandler for a small forward, soft as a wet tissue and he couldn't defend my mother...In other words I want no part of him if that means we can't pay Gerald. If he wanted to come here on a short term deal after we resigned Gerald then I would consider that according to the circumstances. If it's one or the other then hell ****ing NO!!!!!!!!!!!.

Re: Should the Bobcats make a run at Rashard Lewis?
Wallace really is best on the wing, really can't see him being that successful at the two.
Honestly I'd rather stay away from Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis, the latter especially. All he cares about is money.
The biggest asset this team has is its cap space, the need to do more with it. There isn't however anyone worthwhile to spend it on, we need to get creative with it.
Some quick examples:
Brevin Knight, Adam Morrison and the 8th pick for Wally Szcerbiak, Gerald Green and the #5th pick. Select Al Horford.
Involve the Knicks and Seattle in a 3 way trade, look to get Jamal Crawford, Rose and either Lee or Frye for the #8 pick, Sean May and fillers (Knight, Morrison, Harrington)? Knicks get Rashard Lewis at the money he wants and Sean May. Seattle gets the #8 pick, filler / trade exception for a player that was about to walk.

Re: Should the Bobcats make a run at Rashard Lewis?
I don't think we need to be playing Gerald at the 2 again. It didn't work too well at the begining of the year and he didn't start playing as well as he could untill he was swinging between the 3 and 4 positions
Like Diable said I don't want him if it means Gerald's leaving. But if Vincent could find a way of using them both well I'd be all for it because he'd give us a #1 option

Re: Should the Bobcats make a run at Rashard Lewis?
Re-sign Gerald Wallace. Take Spencer Hawes or Corey Brewer at #8. With the 22nd pick look at Marcus Williams, Morris Almond, Wilson Chandler, Derrick Byars or Gabe Pruitt.
Commit to Felton and tell Brevin you're on the bench and you'll like it.
PG - Felton/Knight
SG - Carroll/#22 pick (Byars or Williams would work)
SF - Wallace/Hermann/Morrison
PF - Okafor/May/Hollins
C - Brezec/Hawes/Voskuhl
If the Bobcats don't like Hawes, trade down a few spots (like 3) and take Nick Young or take Nick Young at 8. He's going to be a pure scorer on the pro level. Bobcats have flexibility. I think Gerald will be cheaper than Lewis and since Vincent wants a team that defends, there is no point in trying to get Lewis.
