Which draft day trade?

We're supposedly trying to trade our picks so these are the one's I've read about. Which one makes the most sense

Re: Which draft day trade?

I don't want Banks, even though there's a chance he could come around since he's young. If we take his salary PHX has to make it better worth our trouble. It's nowhere near enough when you consider the probability that the Hawks could be pretty decent next year.Even if you replaced him with a more useful player it's not worth the 8th pick.

Hell no in other words

I'm concerned about Richardson's knee and his salary...I still haven't figured out the length of his contract. In theory it's not a terrible gamble...But I hear that the Warriors have offered Montae Ellis to ATL for 11.I'd much rather trade the pick for him and maybe the 18th.Maybe both our picks for him and 18.He is only 19 or 20 I think...lightning quick, plays both backcourt positions.Maybe he's better suited for Nellyball, but if I deal with GSW that's the guy I want.In theory Richardson would be a great fit here, but Ellis would also without any of the negatives. He and Gerald could turn games into dunking contests.

No to J-Rich,Yes to Ellis

The philly deal isn't that bad really since we could probably get either Nick Young or Al Thornton at 12,pick up a late first rounder and add a guy who might have rotation use.I'm not sure about Hunter's value. He's tall, hasn't done an awful lot.Two years ago the Hornets made a deal for him,but he failed the physical. It's both a reasonable deal and a likely deal

I'd do that if the Warriors didn't want to give up Ellis

I really haven't heard about the Gasol deal.I need to look up his contract details.I'd like that deal better if I thought it was practical.I'm afraid that May can't pass his physical and it's not worth considering.Only problem I have with it is whether or not it's too short term.If we do that we need to go out and get a quality two guard so that we can contend in the East.It would be silly to do it if you didn't add another piece and I don't see the piece.Tell them to re-sign the Bad Thing, throw him in and feign deafness when the doctor tells them May shot be sent to the glue factory.

Yes to this if we can go out and add a good two guard as well, but I want Dahntay Jones too.No if we're not going to really go for it.It just doesn't make sense if the only purpose is to generate some fan interest without really trying to compete.

Re: Which draft day trade?

Yeah, I agree no thanks to the Pheonix trade. If Atlanta goes out and gets Amare or w/e then it makes even less sense

The GS trade needs to atleast be thought about. Why is GS all of a sudden so ready to trade Ellis? Before it was all about moving J-Rich so they'd have the cap to give him a big contract. He's a great player but a Felton-Ellis backcourt is going to get torn up and Carroll, Morrison, and Fabio off the bench aren't exactly good defensive change of pace players

I like the 6er deal alot. Give's us a decent compliment to Okafor and allows us to move down to a spot where the players that fit our needs are actually worth the pick

I don't know if that Gasol deal was actually offered. I saw someone say that was the deal but the only thing I know is that the Grizzlies have contacted us about trading our lottery pick and we have the peices to make a Gasol trade

Re: Which draft day trade?

I think that sixers deal is the most likely deal.It makes a lot of sense for us since we might get the same player at 12 that we'd take at 8(if we drafted a wing).I do want to see who falls to 8 before I pull the trigger. If Brandan Wright is there we should take him. There's a certain level of risk with Wright, but there's the chance that he could be really really good in a few years.

I think the Bulls would make a better deal for Gasol than we could offer, only difference is that Memphis is bleeding red ink and they would probably like to deal with us since we have the capspace that we don't have to send back any big contracts.Gasol makes better sense for them since adding him without subtracting too much else would really make them the team to beat in the East.Of course they don't want to part with Luol Deng and that's what Memphis wants.

Re: Which draft day trade?

According to Bonnell the J-Rich trade is dead

Quote:
Interesting a deal as it might have been, you can back off the speculation that Golden State Warriors guard Jason Richardson is headed to the Bobcats. I know from a great source that the Warriors aren’t moving Richardson to Charlotte to make a trade for Chinese pro Yi Jianlian happen. It is true that Yi could be slipping in the draft, and that’s because he or his representatives are limiting where he’d agree to sign. I’m told he’s reluctant to play anywhere east of Chicago, and last I checked Charlotte was East of the Windy City. That’s limiting the teams willing to risk a high pick on him, which means he’s a top-5 talent who could slip to 10 or lower.
