Jake Voskuhl opts out

Quote:
Voskuhl’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, called me late Sunday night to confirm Voskuhl had opted out of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent. Bartelstein said Voskuhl would enjoy returning to Charlotte, but he’s looking for a long-term commitment here or elsewhere.

Re: Jake Voskuhl opts out

I didn't realize Jake made 2 million.I guess that's chump change in the NBA.I'd rather have someone better, but who would that be?I guess we need him more than a little, but he's obviously looking for a long term deal and that probably wouldn't be a good idea.Jake will turn 30 at the start of the season and he's really a marginal guy already. He does get his money's worth for those six fouls they give him though...And Primoz is way too soft and way too foul prone.

Re: Jake Voskuhl opts out

Yeah, he's a good role player for the right price but there's no point in tieing up our money in Jake Voskuhl. He did play better then Primoz most of the year but that wasn't that hard. If he asks for too much we just need to let him walk.

If it come's down to it I think I'd rather just wing it and play Hollins/Davidson in Voskuhl's 10 or so MPG. It depends more on whether May can play or not though.
