James Posey to Charlotte?

Quote:
Bartelstein, who represents Posey, said Golden State, New Jersey, Charlotte, Cleveland and "a couple other teams" are interested. He said there's still a chance one of those teams could work out a sign-and-trade deal with the Heat

Posey's a good player but I don't see why we would even consider him. We don't have much cap left and with a lot of other needs theres no point to getting another wing. Doubt this has much truth to it though

Re: James Posey to Charlotte?

Yeah not sure why Charlotte would want him, especially considering they just resigned G Wallace. I'm sure they want to keep giving Morrison a healthy dose of minutes as well before they write him off so Posey wouldn't fit well in their game plans.

Re: James Posey to Charlotte?

Makes no sense at all we need a big and a backup point before anything else.I don't know where we'd get either.Almost everyone that makes any sense for us has gotten overpaid somewhere else. One guy who might be worth a shot is Andray Blatche who is still a young 6'11 guy with a great deal of potential. We'd have to overpay him,but I don't see anyone else who'd help us much (maybe a foreign free agent would be an option now).

Unless we're smart enough to get BK back I don't know how we get a backup point guard. The greek guy from CSKA moscow is the only decent point left. He's probably better than Felton has been so far and if he wants to come over there are several teams offering him the full MLE.That's really too much, but I got nothing else beyond scrounging through the summer league rejects for a scrub. We kick BK off the team and then come into next season without a decent backup I'm going to be really pissed.

How much do you think that would cost us. I thought I saw something like the Net's were going to offer full MLE to him but obviously that didn't happen. So my guess is it's something around there

That's pretty much looking really likely right now. Only way I see us getting a decent one is through trade. Maybe we could work out some kind of trade with Atlanta and bring in Anthony Johnson. I doubt it would happen though because I can't see them trying to help there division. We'll probably end up stuck with McInnis and B. Brown as our backups

Re: James Posey to Charlotte?

Blatche is going to cost a lot and he's going to be a pretty decent gamble.I'm not sure it's really worth it if you can't get him for around 3 million. The guy hasn't done anything to merit that sort of money, but if someone gives him PT he could really turn into a nice frontline rotation player. That's what we need and I can't think of anything better at this point.Probably go into the season praying that Davidson can go out there and hold his own for 20 minutes a night, try to get Voskuhl back. That'll leave us short a big though.Biggest thing is that Primoz can't suck the way he did last year and he can't be doing that foul a minute crap or we're really going to be screwed.

I can't figure out for the life of me why we didn't do that deal that Houston did for Scola and Butler.Butler is overpaid, but we could have used anything with a large body.We could have given SA their second round pick back, maybe a future second too.You know they didn't want to help out a division rival and would have taken whatever we offered.Houston got Scola for around 3 million a year. The Spurs practically gave him away.If we could have done that and then gotten Brevin back we'd have had all our holes filled in.Probably would be looking at a chance to compete for the fourth or fifth seed in the Eastt IMO.
