Mike Sanders will replace Dell Curry as a Charlotte Bobcats assistant coach this season.
Curry resigned Tuesday from the job he accepted over the summer on new coach Sam Vincent's staff. Curry will instead do some broadcast and community-relations work for the team, as will Muggsy Bogues. Bogues and Curry played together for the then-Charlotte Hornets.
Curry said in a statement released by the Bobcats that he had second thoughts about the time commitment involved in coaching at the NBA level.
"After having time to fully grasp the commitment of being an assistant coach, I realized I could not give up the necessary time away from my family," Curry said. "However, I am pleased that I can still contribute to the organization and the players."
I'm surprised that any of the guys who stuck in the NBA for long periods are interested in coaching there.
Curry played 16 seasons in the NBA and made 20 million dollars.Hard to see how any of the guys who did it for that long and made good money would want to go back to spending half the year on the road.

I guess some people just love the game and want to be around it, or they see it as a career opportunity.
