Vincent mulls giving Wallace less time at the 4
Quote:
Before Wallace was injured, he was starting at power forward, a position where he inevitably gives up a lot of bulk to the man he’s guarding. Vincent hinted Friday he might cut back on Wallace’s minutes at power forward, if not use him exclusively at small forward, to guard against more concussions.
But Wallace playing most of his minutes at small forward creates a crowd at the wing positions (small forward and shooting guard), where the Bobcats have a nice groove going these days.
With Wallace out, Jason Richardson moved from shooting guard to small forward, moving Matt Carroll into the starting lineup. Carroll has excelled of late, as has rookie Jared Dudley, playing small forward off the bench.
Of those four, Wallace is likely the only one who can be effective as an NBA power forward. Yet Vincent is right—the team puts Wallace at risk if it continues to play him against power forwards.

I always considered Wallace a true small forward.
