OT: Ray Allen Signs With Sonics
On the ESPN front page, he agreed to a 5 year deal. Obviously, the terms can't be disclosed till July 22nd, but I'm assuming it's close to the max. With Allen gone, do the Hawks, Clippers, or Cavs turn their attention to Redd or one of our bigs???

I guess the Sonics would have a ton of space if Allen didn't leave, so I guess it's a wash.

Now Redd will definetly get an undeserving maximum contract!

Re: OT: Ray Allen Signs With Sonics
No big surprise there; I expected Allen to resign with Seattle. He's probably getting a 5 year deal worth 90 million.
I expect Cleveland to continue to make a hard push for Redd and posssibly Joe Johnson, Larry Hughes and Bobby Simmons.

Whether Redd moves or not seems to be more critical to our situation.

Well that's the interesting thing. Cleveland has to focus all their attention on Redd now. They have all this cap space to place a superstar next to LeBron and if they can't get it done they might throw a huge contract at Chandler or Curry.

Re: OT: Ray Allen Signs With Sonics
For what it's worth (depending on how valid you think his reporting is) Chad Ford says the Cavs are trying to sign Redd, re-sign Ilgausjkas and bring over Jasikevicius from Maccabi Tel Aviv and then try and trade Gooden for a more blue-collar, defensive-minded PF. It sounds like Ferry won't go after Curry or Chandler unless Ilgauskas asks Cleveland for way too much $$ or simply refuses to come back to the Cavs.

Good move by Ray. Seattle has been on the rise since his first day.
