Thabo should stay as the starter.
Thabo is obviously a confidence player, and he seems to have some of that back. He's shooting it well and he gives us decent size in the backcourt for a change. Kirk can keep his brickfest game on the sidelines.

Re: Thabo should stay as the starter.
I actually just logged on to start a new thread about this same topic. You stole my thunder!
However, we have different ideas about Kirk. I think Thabo could guard all those big 2s that Kirk struggles with and allow Kirk to focus on his offense. Hopefully that will give him the boost he needs.

I'd start Hinrich and Sefolosha. Bring Gordon in like you normally would... cut back Duhon's minutes... we'll need him with Kirk in permanent foul trouble.

Kirk's brickfest game? Duhon's shooting 21.7% since he's been starting. 21.7%!!!
Kirk's at least at a semi-respectable 41.3% over the same span.
I agree, though. Thabo should continue to start...but with Kirk.

Re: Thabo should stay as the starter.
THANK YOU.
Free Thabo and lock Du to the bench. Thabo plays great D and with some playing time will hit some J's and get to the FT a ton. He is 6'7" with a long reach and can cover and SG or SF. And he matches up well with either KH or BG and we would go from a short team to a team with lenght with BG, Thabo, and Deng as a swing players. And most importantly the worst starting PG in the NBA can go sit at the end of the bench. What is his FG% sine he is starting. Less then 20%. He makes Eric Snow look like a scoring machine.
Either Du goes to the bench or i have to start going to AA.

Re: Thabo should stay as the starter.
I agree that Thabo could start with Kirk which would give us more size as well. And I must admit I forgot how bad Duhon is shooting, but I mentioned Kirk because the only reason Thabo is starting is because Kirk is injured. If he comes back, Thabo might be the one that's replaced.

ohh sweet jesus, can we overreact a little more to one game? He made plays tonight, that doesnt change the fact he is shooting 32% on the season.

And Duhon is shooting 37%... I just think Sefolosha will bring that number up... and his length creates problems for other teams.

And Thabo's shooting 32% in only 11mpg as well. Obviously if he is the starter he gets alot more, his confidence goes up, and we have better matchups on D.

Re: Thabo should stay as the starter.
Thabo and Kirk? A big backcourt? Sign me up. Duhon doesn't deserve more than 4th guard status at this point.

Re: Thabo should stay as the starter.
Thabo also attacks the rim and can get to the line. I definitely would like to see that more, especially with a guy that has some size and a little bit of ball handling ability. Nocioni and Deng attack the rim, but neither can handle the ball very well and are prone to turning it over in traffic, and as everyone knows our guards are all way too small.

Good point. I definitely hope that Boylan realizes that Duhon's performance as a starter just isn't cutting it - he should at least give starting Kirk and Thabo a shot. If it doesn't work, put Duhon back in, as we at least seem to win more often when he starts at PG, even if he can't shoot.

Re: Thabo should stay as the starter.
At this point, what do we have to lose? We suck. So, we have to give some of the youngsters a chance. Much to my chagrin, it's clear Wallace and Smith will get a large share of the front court minutes. We now need to look at the back court.
