SI: Amaré Stoudemire on the block.....Bulls a possibility?
Quote:

The Bulls, for example, would no doubt love to have a low-post monster like Stoudemire. Chicago could offer a package of, say, Ben Gordon, Andres Nocioni, Tyrus Thomas and a draft pick for Stoudemire. But the Suns would need a big man to replace Stoudemire (sorry, Bulls fans, but Ben Wallace has $28.5 million left on his contract and doesn't fit Phoenix's system).

Ben gordon, Nocioni, Tyrus Thomas and a possible lottery pick?
Amaré Stoudemire would be great! But man this trade makes Phoenix much better now and in the long run.
Too much.
Your giving up close to what 40 ppg in everyone we are shipping out? We are one of the worst offensive teams in the NBA I dont see how giving up 40 for 22 ppg improves us in that category.

Suns would never do that trade. It would add way too much to next year's payroll.

Re: SI: Amaré Stoudemire on the block.....Bulls a possibility?
I think the microfracture surgery took some of the luster off of Stoudamire's star for me... that, and watching him in some of the Team USA scrimmages he looked like he was getting outplayed by Howard and Bosh pretty soundly.
It all depends on the price... clearly he'd help us.
If we did do Gordon, Nocioni, Tyrus and our first we'd start:
Hinrich
Sefolosha
Deng
Stoudamire
Noah (probably Wallace... but we're making things up anyway so what the heck.)
That leaves a pretty empty bench... we'd need to add some scoring depth there. That may be easier to find than a player like Stoudamire... so it'd probably be worth doing for that reason alone. I don't really see anything like this happening though.

You can't look at it that way. PPG isn't set in stone. Gordon and Nocioni are shot-happy. Trading them opens up more shots for other players (such as Deng).

No No No, dont get Me WRONG I would LOVEEEEE Amare on our team no doubt, but think about it your giving up Ben Gordon, Nocioni, TT and a high drafted player, what your getting in return is a legit star but your losing 4 players for 1 guy. You will still be stuck with Wallace's contract and add another big contract in Amare.
I would not be heart broken if this trade went down but I'm pretty sure the Bulls can do this without losing their top pick.

I know what your saying, but still I think Deng is fine where he is with his shot selection I dont want him to go back to the happy jump shooting Deng of early season where he was missing everything in sight, opening more shots for other players is fine and dandy but not when those guys are Duhon, Noah, Thabo and Adrian Griffin lol.

Re: SI: Amaré Stoudemire on the block.....Bulls a possibility?
Boy that's a tough one..........NOT
Let's be realistic, Ben Gordon isn't likely to be resigned by the Bulls unless he agress to a similar contract he turned down. He's gonna be in every trade proposal.
Unfortuantely, I've come to accept that. He's one of my favorite Bulls.
However, Amare is a franchise changer for us.
Of course, some have said that Tyrus could be similar if given the chance.
The other problem is that we really would be done with moves after a trade like that.
You can't trade Hinrich & Wallace cause you'd have a backcourt of Dunothing and Thabonator.
I want Amare, but if a deal doesn't include Wallace it's tough.
I do believe having Amare would significantly improve us defensively and offensively.

Re: SI: Amaré Stoudemire on the block.....Bulls a possibility?
I would ok any trade for Amare as long it involves Wallace.
I would hope to keep our draft pick if we do a trade involving Ben,Noc and Thomas, trust me we will need more players to come in. Amare would put us in a better situation but I still dont see the Win Loss being any different for the remainder of this season.
I hope we can start 09 with this team.
C-Amare
PF- Wallace
SF- Beasley or Deng
SG- Deng or Kirk
PG- Rose or Kirk

Unless Steve Kerr pulls a Mchale on his former team, theres no way he do such a lopsided trade.
Ben Gordon and Nocioni are not going to land you a top 5 PF in the league. The Suns are in a win now mode and would not take on Tyrus Thomas who won't be useful in a couple of years.

Re: SI: Amaré Stoudemire on the block.....Bulls a possibility?
Nope. That trades not happening. Suns won't take Gordon, they have Barbosa, and his salary is going to go up next year because he's a free agent.
If a trade goes down, you can book it that it will be something close to Bulls Receive: Stoudemire, Banks, Piatowski. Bulls Trade: Andres Nocioni, Thabo Sefolosha, Tyrus Thomas, Chris Duhon, and Joakim Noah.
The Suns coveted Thomas, Sefo, and Noah coming out of college. They've always wanted a point guard to run the show when Nash was out (Duhon), and they were part of our competition when Nocioni was deciding who to sign with in 2004.

Chicago might be willing to dangle Luol Deng and some of its younger big men, but that type of deal would set the Suns back, as far as their championship aspirations are concerned. The same goes for Milwaukee, which has young bargaining chips in Yi Jianlian and Charlie Villanueva to pair with Michael Redd in a blockbuster package.

Charlie V is still viewed as a bargaining chip?
