Let this Rose draft be a new beggining for Noah and Thomas, I and a lot of other fans have been very hard on Noah and Thomas but now that we got a real PG and a possible future superstar, I think we can start with a clean slate for Thomas and Noah.

It depends on how much playing time he gets, if hes a 30+ guy he could sleep on the court and still average 5 apg, if Deng and Gordon play the way they did 2 seasons ago I can see Rose averaging 7 apg.

Re: Tyrus is a keeper

SWEET! I was hoping, and expecting, them to keep Tyrus if Rose was drafted. Hopefully the Rose pick nets us, in essence, 2 stars when Tyrus blows up as a result of playing with Rose (and his own development on top of it).

Now to see who WILL be traded. I still think that Gordon needs to go as he's such a liability on defense, and Rose will be wore down and ineffective from guarding SGs if they try to pair him with the inept Gordon. I checked the '09 nbadraft.net mock, and at #9 they have us taking Chase Budinger, who I think would be a perfect compliment to Rose since he can score and has good size. Needs to work on the D and handle though of course. My point in bringing that up, is we don't have to get all of the pieces to the puzzle right now. Yes if Gordon is traded, we need a scoring SG, but one can be found next year. Same with C, as I don't think that Noah is the answer there.

Yep, fortunately Vinny D said that he wants to the play the young guys. Given that Rose is physically ready for the NBA, I'd be surprised (and also pretty disappointed) if he is anything less than 25 min/game. Hopefully more like 30 min/game. A decent veteran backup would be a good option regardless (mid-level exception?).

Per Tyrus & Noah, I look at it this way. If they can't play well under Rose (I'll give them 2 yrs to show this), we can officially declare them busts or whatever.

I think Chicago will have VDN's head if he doesnt play Derrick Rose big time minutes in his first year. I would like Hinrich to stay as a backup but you just dont pay backups 10 million dollars a year, especially one that needs a ton of playing time on the court to contribute. I'm really high on the Bulls going after Anthony Carter as their backup vet pg, the man can come cheap and seems to do a good job of running high speed offenses, he did a decent job in Denver and he cut down on his turnovers. Another guy that I really like as a backup but I dont think will sign with us because he might start somewhere is Beno Udrih.

I give Tyrus ONE more year to show significant improvement next season or else hes a big time bust and I give Noah 2 more seasons.

My rationale of 2 seasons for both Tyrus & Noah is based on the possibility that Rose could have a less-than-spectacular rookie season. If he puts up Deron Williams type of numbers (from rookie year) such as 10 pts, 5 assists and struggles more than we think, then it may hold our big men back.

What I expect to see is a strong correlation between Derrick Rose's readiness to be a full-time PG, and the performance of Tyrus & Noah. If Rose isn't doing what I think he will, I can't realistically expect Tyrus & Noah to emerge how I hope.

One thing I agree on though. If neither shows much improvement over the course of this season, my faith in them will go down substantially.

Re: Tyrus is a keeper

For a start, Tyrus will needa find a way to make Gooden sit on the bench instead of the other way round.
Next, at least a 12-15ppg average.
