As Bulls GM, what are your offseason moves?
Simple thread, you've woken up as John Paxson, what is your first move?

Re-sign Gordon and Deng. Then I put everybody on the market except for my untouchables. I look at the offers for Hughes, Hinrich, Nocioni etc... and accept whichever one I like best. If none of them attract, trade them for an expiring.

Re-sign Gordon and Deng.
Explore trade scenarios with Hughes and Noc, and possibly with Thabo and Gooden as well. Other players can enter the discussion in a consolidation scenerio as well (i.e. no one is untouchable).
Depending on roster balance based on who/if we trade, try and sign a backup C and 3rd string PG with the MLE.

Any FA's you would target #1?

Not sure if I want to sign anybody. Maybe someone like PJ Brown would like to come back and mentor Tyrus. However, he would have to understand he rarely will see any minutes.

Re: As Bulls GM, what's your next move?
S&T Deng and Noah for Joe Alexander and '09 1st.
S&T Gordon and Hughes for Knicks 1st next year and David Lee (and filler)....addition by subtraction, on both Gordon and Hughes' account here.
Rose/Hinrich
Hinrich/Sefolosha
Nocioni/Alexander
Tyrus/Lee
Gooden/Gray
And call it a day.
That team is way better than what we have now, and we should net 2 lotto picks out of the deal as well. Vets at every position (if we had Hinrich and Sefolosha starting at the guards) and great young talent backing it up, aside from C which would be Blake Griffin next year, and Chase Budinger would be our scoring wing with the other pick we'd be bringing back in these trades.

I was sure you would make sure we trade for Alexander. I would never trade Deng for Alexander and an 09 pick. Throw in Noah and that's a horrible trade on our side.
What will Milwaukee do with Deng? They just traded for Jefferson. Only reason they accept is because they trade rape us.

Re: As Bulls GM, what's your next move?
I think my first move would be trading for Al Jefferson.
I don't know how. And it might even be impossible. They'd probably never give him up anyway.
But he would be so good on this team.
Rose
Thabo
Deng
Al Jefferson
Noah
With one of Kirk or Gordon coming in at guard
Tyrus / Gooden coming in at PF or C

Re: As Bulls GM, what's your next move?
trade deng for lebron, gooden for Dwight Howard, sign and trade ben gordon for Tracy McGrady (or any shooting guard will do here). Then sign and trade chris duhon to new york for an expiring and a unprotected number 1 pick

Re: As Bulls GM, what's your next move?
1.Re-sign Deng for 5 years, 60 million and not a cent more.
2.Call the Clippers and offer them Kirk Hinrich, Drew Gooden, and our 2009 1st Round Pick for Corey Maggette in a S&T deal at 4 years, 50 million.
3.Offer Gordon the QO. Tell him if he can find a better deal that we won't match and that if he plays well, he'll get a near-max deal from us next summer.
4.Call the Wizards and offer them Andres Nocioni for Brendan Haywood and whatever cap filler they want to throw in.
PG-Rose
SG-Maggette
SF-Deng
PF-Thomas
C-Haywood
BENCH: Gordon, Hughes, Sefolosha, Noah
Scoring comes from Maggette, Deng, and Tyrus. We can go quick with Rose, Gordon, Maggette, Deng, and Noah. We can go big with Rose, Maggette, Deng, Noah, and Haywood. We can put a great defensive team on the court with Rose, Sefolosha, Hughes, Thomas, and Noah. We can shoot ourselves back in the game. We are young and versatile with enough veteran presence to make a playoff run next year.

Potential FA targets:
Anthony Carter (3rd string PG)
Pietrus (if we do something like Hughes & Thabo for a big)
David Harrison

Re: As Bulls GM, what's your next move?
Offer Deng a 5/58 deal and Gordon a 3/33 deal.
Then trade Hinrich and Hughes for an overpaid big man and a scrub. I was thinking Malik Rose and Jeffries, but would need a third team to pull that off with some more salary.
